    Ace leaking.

Thank you, I'm glad to know that was worried about getting it to the garage, turn a corner and end up in a ditch haha.

    Ace leaking.

Yes I saw that.... I'm just interested to know what people think regarding the AA gentleman's advice about just driving it with all the equipment still on just disabled. Personally I'm only going to drive to the garage to get the ACE repaired can't bring myself to rip something out that...

    Ace leaking.

Good morning. So yesterday driving home from work my TD5's ACE light came on. Underneath it had completely wet itself. AA man turns up and gets a belt to bypass the ACE pump and tells me it will be fine to drive like that from now on and can just keep the ACE equipment fitted. I need to take...

Pleased to see it fire up, :). Turned it off and back on again, and it drove fine with no sound from the pump anymore

Great success.....couple of squirts of easy start and she fired up!

Thank you for that will go get some of that spray tomorrow, I have seen that a few people needed to purge their TD5's several times to get it to start. As you say it may clean out any gunk which is blocking up the rail.

Thank you, just been looking at the start spray you mentioned this could.get her going. Fire her up at least would be brilliant

I hooked it up to my transporter whilst working on it so give battery the charge. When taking the fuel filter off it was white foam. But of course the battery still may of been below 10.5v even with the transporter hooked up to it. The pump is making an awful sound. From what I gather a...

    TD5 non-starter

That's OK, electrics arnt my strongest ability ;) I may be barking up the wrong tree thinking as there is fuel running through the pipes the pump must be functional possibly LP. Just to get it started would be great. It's just making a god awful noise and I have purged it a good few times but...

But to check this the car would need to be running? To check the HP.

Thank you, just attempted that still no joy, am I correct in thinking that because there is fuel coming out of the fuel cooler with the pipe disconnect and ignition on that that fuel pump is working?

Need to get hold of a multimeter, went to changed R9 with R8 fuse but R8 isn't present.

Bit of a update, drained and refilled with clean diesel. New filter. Purged and also connected battery up to my wagon so make sure it had enough power. Still no joy, I removed the pipe for the fuel cooler and diesel is running through with with ignition on. But still not starting unfortunately.

I went through the purge protocol as he didn't understand bless him. In my humble opinion I believe it is becuase of what he has been running it on. The pump is now making an awful noise and it purges then stops then purges again.

Thank you, drained the tank and will help them out tomorrow he drove to work and it was sat ticking over for about 20 minutes then it cut out and didn't restart. Hopefully after draining and cleaning and refilling with diesel ....fingers crossed

I agree I wouldn't want to risk my beloved TD5, that's my concern that's its done damage somewhere possibly. it iscranking but not firing up so I hope for them with fresh diesel and a clean they learn their lesson and it fires up.

    TD5 non-starter

That's perfect thank you, saves sucking on diesel....and what ever else he's got in his tank, he was bit vague on what his "son" puts in their disco, my opinion would be veg oil mixture. Only thing I can do for them is drain and clean the tank refill with diesel, and fingers crossed she fires up...

    TD5 non-starter

Absolutely, there is a thick film of gunk at the bottom and the fuel needs to be completely drained. I suspect there is more than diesel in the tank, resembles cloudy liquid mud. So a deep clean and fresh diesel is needed

    TD5 non-starter

Thank you! I will let him know this information. And try and bump start it. We have removed the pump and the fuel is a cloudy mud colour with alot of crap at the bottom of the tank. So I'm not to sure what the hell he's been using to fuel his landy o_O. I was going to swap my pump over just to...
