Hi all My disco currently has 1 key and 1 fob. Both work great. But I have managed to acquire a new(2nd hand scrap yard item) from a donor car. How can I set this new fob with my current car and alarm system? I have done a search but after 30 minutes i've given up! Thanks Daniel

Hindsight is a funny thing James! This is something which didn't cross ouor minds at the time. Hopefully there would have been enough clearance in the piston/valves to allow them to keep clear of each other. If not it'll be another visit to the part shop for 8 valves...

stripped the head down and sent it for pressure testing on friday, got it back yesterday. It was warped and needed a decent skim. Pressure test showed the head had no faults! :) Mega Happy :) Will get it all rebuilt after lapping the valves in this week

After weighing up the pro's and con's of an engine strip and head skim/pressure test, it might not be financially viable at the moment, which leaves me with 3 choices. a, Park it up and do the work over a few months (estimated £600 worth of work, due to a potential cylinder head replacement)...

Thanks for the tips. I was planning on getting the head skimmed and checked, if it were thought that could be the issue. I will for now check the bleed points on the engine for air and see how hot it gets. I havent got time to do anything before next week due to le mans, I will update you all...

it hasnt lost any water, and yes, it did get very hot. This wasnt a case of airlock as I have done runs of over 500 miles with no issues previously, and i dont think its the wiring as the gauge worked perfectly until now.

I assume a new thermostat and waterpump as a matter of course??

yeah, runs very smooth and pulls well (drove it from top of drive to bottom, around 100 meters) without it getting warmed up.
