    Trillo's V8 Disco 1 Build

Haven't seen that forum. Will go and look. Nice Disco. I do like the looks of a good old standard Disco offroading :D Unfortunately it does mean no Hippos  Very keen on one as a daily as a V8 isn't the cheapest way to get to school! There was a 2WD one for $900 recently, but wrong time...

    Winch security

That's what I thought! But I thought they were joking!!!! About security, you could replace the bolts with some oddball safety bolts that the average 'Mr Scumbag' won't have the tools for (say a new Torx bolt with a pin in the centre meaning a standard Torx tool won't work, except for the fact...

    Do I need dislocation cones?

You don't have to buy some cones. If your spring does dislocate your other option is to run spring retainers. This will mean that they cannot dislocate. It'll give you less travel, but the plus is when your on a sidling your spring won't suddenly dislocate, putting you at a scarier angle! The...

I've already had dinner! Me 2: Annndddddddd????????? Me 1: It can't mean afternoon after all!!!!! (Yay, got one up...

    Freelander 1.8 Turbo

Better buy that mag :D My Disco keeps me poor so have given up on buying every single one (they're real expensive in NZ) See you got an A-Bar fitted up. Looks great and by the look of the Youtube vids, also goes great :D

    Disco 2 brake bleed nipples

About prices from a main dealer: LOTS They'll charge an arm and a leg. I'd say its a last resort :D lol

    Disco 2 brake bleed nipples

I have no idea but just thought that there may be a difference between facelift and non-facelift model nipples???? If so you may have bought the wrong ones cause Paddocks seem to be pretty good generally :o

Diff lock issue & video - Please help?

It could be also a blown bulb. Had that happen many times to Dad's truck. My Disco has the opposite problem, sometimes the light wouldn't go off. I then found out that you have to get it up to speed to disengage the light. I'm thinking yours could be as simple as a blown bulb but could also be...

    33" tyres

I'd rather the Bighorns for my truck too but I do so little mud (only riverbeds and road driving really) that the fact that the Grabbers are guaranteed to last more than 2x as long as the Bighorns, I reckon the Grabbers are for me :D

    33" tyres

I had been planning on those as well, until I saw the General Grabber comp. tyre in 33x10.5R15. They look really good for me (cause I'll be doing lots of road driving too and very little mud).

    33" tyres

I am looking at getting either 255/85/16 or 285/75/16 from Maxxis Bighorn or BFG, but don't really understand the pros or cons between the two sizes? 255s are taller than 285s, despite them both supposedly being 33s. 255s are nearer 33.5" tall and some 285s are only 32.7". Doesn't sound much...

    Tyres on arches.

I thought you had another thread on this? As far as I'm aware, to fit 265/75s you need a 2" lift and guards trimmed. I have seen guys with undersize 265s get away with it and it seemed to rub only near full articulation but I'd recommend fitting up some flares w/ cut guards.

    Front bumper trimming

Nice! That looks good. But what's with the A-Bar, some of the plastic's missing on one side. What that down to 'attacking an embankment'?!
