Took it fot a drive down the motorway. Got up to the higher rev range and lost power, turbo sped up and smoke poored out the side. Could this be a timeing issu?

Absolutely chuffed to bits! Filled the radiator with water until I can get some more antifreeze. Filled the powet steering system. Didn't even put turbo hoses on I was so eager. Stuck my watet pump back on. New gaskey glued on. Bolted power steering pump brackey and pump back on. Just need to fill coolant system, powet steering. Going yo check rocker clearance as im not sure about it. Got me a 0.2mm feeler thing. Then its the moment of truth to see if it will fire up!

Cleaned, re set timimg (I think) and slapped new belt on. Also put new push rods in and tightened them up I think. Time to re build, hoping the old girl starts up :)

Fluffy! Belt has disintigrated. Belt was a lot thinner then the new one. And found there to be a line on each cog where its covered and not covered. Been like this for some time I think.

Got my rounded bolt off finnaly. But now cant get the damper off. Dont have one of those pulling tools. Would come in rather handy right now :/

Ha I bought some on express delivery for tomz shortly after it happend. If they dont come in time I shall get a friend who works in a garage to grab me one ;)

Took the big bolt off the crank pulley. Then one of the 4 little bolts holding the pulley on rounded off. Rather fooked off that its stopped play again and im going to be relying on lifts for that little bit longer.

Humm guess thats right. Biggest I got is a 27 and that was a little under. Lucky the belt has snapped because one of the glow plugs is seized in there ;)

I shall have to find me a big bar. What sized nut is it?

Pulled bits out the engine bay clearing the way to the cam belt. Stopped at the last hurdle by the large nut on the bottom pulley. Dont really know how to get that one off. :-o B-)

Ha thats why I dont know if me valves are ok. All ive done so far is pull some bits out and look under the rocker cover. I is slow.
