Our (new to us) 2003 TD5 auto is having a few issues. It had a "cheap" Eurocar Parts fuel pump fitted when bought, and would run for a while, run rough then cut out and be a pig to start. Thinking it was down to the cheap pump, I've just replaced it with a VDO pump - but it still does the same...

I'm looking for a "bargain" rear lower engine/gearbox mount for a TD4 Freelander, LR part number is KKH000070, its the L shaped mount with a big bush in the middle and a little one at the end. Must be new or at least the bushes must be in excellent condition. Like this:

Has anyone had experience of one of these failing ? I had an oil leak on my TD4 that soaked this mount/bush for a while and there seems to be a lot of play in the bush and the engine/gearbox seems pretty free to waggle about, shaking the gearstick under load. The part number is KKH000070 which...

He's getting it trailered to his local independent to see if they can fix it - it'll be interesting to see what the verdict is, I'll try to remember to post it here for future reference.

I think that is where we'll start. Will it need a diagnostics bleed after changing the M/C ?

Just had a call from a friend who has just replaced a front caliper on his 2000 TD5 (he was setting out to do both but did the first one and ran into this problem) and can't get any fluid through the system. With the nipple open the pedal goes to the floor but no fluid comes out. He's even tried...

I've just replaced mine (2003 TD4), I went for Bearmach at £13 the set of 4 delivered. Time will tell if they last, but I've had no issues with Bearmach in the past. I've the same issue as you for a while, and sadly changing the plugs didn't sort it. But mines got 120k miles on it, so I think...

Fitted a new set of glow plugs in my TD4 :) Having read reports of then snapping off I warmed the engine up well first, but when the first one gave I was still sure it was about to snap - but it just unscrewed, followed by the other 3. Quite an anti-climax really :cool:

I've been thinking about a set of those tyres, seem a good price. Whats the quality like (e.g. did you end up with half a pound of lead on the rims to balance them ?) ?

Thanks, just taken it all apart and sure enough the cam cover gasket is leaking at the rear right hand corner. Looking at it closely, right in that corner the sealing grooves change pattern. The genuine one I've just bought does the same, but on the pattern part there is a definite step, so...

I got the TD4 into the garage this morning and removed the airbox cover to give me a bit more room and visibility. Because of the design of the cam cover its difficult to see for sure if its leaking at the rear, but there's definitely oil high up and around the back in that area. Feeling around...
