Just checked with him. He said it was a A-series exhaust manifold. not a A series engine :P

Not sure what mine is. Not good @ mechanics me, learning though ;). I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a turner head on it. My dad who is a mechanic told 1 time it was a standard A-series engine. It's from a 1971 landy. If that helps what type it is.

I'm most probably getting a 200tdi put in my landy. Has done 20000 miles from new. It starts from tests when bought about 5 years ago and has stood at the back of a workshop since then. Painted and looks good. New fan belt too. I'm not selling yet. But i wanted a idea how much the engine would...

You could get a replacement 1.2 chassis but as you are stripping it down to the chassis. Personally i went i bought a half decent chassis off ebay for £500. But 2 years on i've had to replace the rear half coz of un-seen rust eating from inside-out and it won't be long now until other small...

Chassis bash = Fabricated to a different design to the original. Usually done by a non-professional. Doesn't mean it's a bad job though. :D

I usually use "vehicle wiring products" for my car electrics but the above may be just as good. Your looking for a switch with about a 10A rating. Wouldn't have thought u would need more than that. Especially if you want to run it through a relay. Lots of switches

Yep defo a bodge job.. Looks like he has modified the rear part of the tub as it doesn't look like it bolts on as it should [i.e. 5 pairs of bolts staggered]. Doesn't look to bad metal tbh. My chassis certainatly looked worse and i got it back to good metal. Give it a rub down with a wire brush...

Depends what you need it for and what trailer u want to pull. When o bought my landy it was b4 been used on a farm and the farmer just put the universal tow ball on with 2 bolts straight on to the xmember. But if your using the trailer on the road i suggest getting a drop hitch and hitch...

not done it a ex mod diesel b4. But i doubt a new wiring loom is needed. Just need to connect wires from the starter solenoid to the relevant parts. I am assuming of course that the wiring loom has not been cut from the rest of the vehicle.

If bridging the soleniod doesn't work, From the earth braiding on the engine, take a lead from that to the -ive pole of the battery. Might have a high resistant between the earth braiding on the chassis and the -ive pole of battery. Just an idea
