    Painting plastic trim

Thanks for all the replies, I've got new trim anyway as the old is all cracked and brittle. Going to use plastic primer followed by regular primer then a gloss black topcoat. Thanks Albert

    Winch wiring

Hi all, I've got a winch to go on my 90. It's all fitted now but just needs wiring up. The problem is that I'm about a metre short of the battery. The positive isn't an issue as I'm putting an isolator in the circuit however the earth needs to be in one length. It reached the starter earth...

    Painting plastic trim

Thanks, I've already got a proper plastic primer. I can paint metallic no problem however this is going to be gloss black. I'll get some topcoat sorted out. Thanks!

    The fleet

Yeah they probably will invent some drivel which puts pressure on diesel owners, that is until they find another big problem with petrols again. It'll just keep going round in circles

    The fleet

It was converted but when I got it the tanks were a little too rusty to remover. The second issue is the nearest lpg station is 15 miles away and I rarely have any reason to go that way so sort of defeats the object for the benefits. As for the anti diesel regs I couldn't care less, we're...

    The fleet

I adore that disco, has a full straight through and just roars. Shame about the 12mpg which is part of the reason to go. If I was to keep it then it would only end up being sat in a shed somewhere. Also there's a possibility of me getting an s1 in the near future ;)

    The fleet

Just a few pics of mine and the farms landy fleet. Mine are 2 200tdi defenders, and 110 and a 90, the farms td5 90 (pic is of it fully loaded with feed ) and my discovery 1 v8 which I might have to part company with as I have too many landies apparantly

    Painting plastic trim

Hi all, I'm currently assembling the front wings on my 90 project and I'm about to fit the plastic trim, the light trim I have is in a matt finish plastic but I want it as gloss, same with the grill which is all ready sort of gloss but I'm sure there will be a mismatch. I have some plastic...

200tdi 110 back on the road!

The hinges were knackered so the doors required a good slam, the passenger side cappings had come loose so the door had to be slammed even harder, so much so that the door has a nice twist in it now

200tdi 110 back on the road!

Thanks all!! Fingers crossed it'll last me another year or so until my other big projects are out of my way then that'll be in line for a renovation. Already planned what to do with it: do absolute bare minimum to bodywork to keep the farm patina but do everything underneath to a good standard...

200tdi 110 back on the road!

Hi all, Not been on for ages but whilst ive been off here ive been busy with both my 90 rebuild and a project 110. Heres a few pics of a 110 which I bought at a farm sale with the intentions of getting it back on the road for a budget of £2k (including cost of the vehicle) which included a...

    200tdi rebuild

Not been on for a while. Been mainly tearing my hair out with the wiring but that getting there now. I'll get a load of pics up when I've got my tablet linked to my properly. It now starts off the key, the battery box is in and it actually has some working lights. Feel sorry for the previous...

    Capping rivets

Thanks for the advise, I've ordered some stainless ones anyway, the gun I've got is very strong so I reckon it should be ok but I'll soon find out if not. Thanks Albert

    Capping rivets

Hi all I've done a search and I'm not getting the answer I need. I'm gettin new sealed rivets for my tub cappings but I can't find what length they need to be. I know that they're 4.8mm diameter and I have found them on eBay which state they're for cappings but give no sizes. Reason for not...

Series 1 Checking originality of Series 1s

Well as it stands he's not in a position to sell them at the moment but that might change over the next few months. I can weld so neither would be a big issue. Just hoping that they become available. Best get my 90 finished in the mean time

Series 1 Checking originality of Series 1s

To be honest looking at the s2 all it needs is a chassis and bulkhead and the rest is good to go. Can't say the same for the s1 unfortunately

Series 1 Checking originality of Series 1s

Series 1 Checking originality of Series 1s

Thanks for the pointers on the size, that'll give me a good indication from a glance. I'll definately be keeping the older of the two and may sell the other to a friend at cost price. Depending on condition id like to rebuild everything as far as reasonably possible underneath then just give the...
