    New underwear required!!

I usually cover about 3-4000 miles a year so I suppose I should be greasing ujs more often. As for finding issues underneath it's better to find them before they get serious. Albert

    200 TDI Boost Ring

I don't know much about turbos but that doesn't sound good. I've seen them running much higher on much less adjustment Albert

    200 TDI Boost Ring

I bought 2 sets of pins and rings at kelmarsh. One for the project 90 and the other for the 110 after seeing lots of good reviews about them. I'll fit it to the 90 when I get round to it but that'll be off the road for another few months, and I'll be fitting it to the 110 this weekend hopefully...

    New underwear required!!

I only ever used to do them when I was servicing or before I went on a long trip. From now on I'll probs be doing it every couple of months. Albert

    New underwear required!!

Well at least it's not just me then :p I've pulled off the prop so at least I'll be able to drive it to work in the morning in diff lock. I'll have a look around but it'll probs be an eBay special Albert

    New underwear required!!

Turns out it was a circlip which had come loose. One bearing had come out. Found it on the chassis and appears to be immaculate inside. No other damage apart from a few dents in the floor and a near miss with the wiring on the chassis. The prop is a definate write off anyway. So...

    New underwear required!!

Also as for doing it on the side of the road I could have done it easily with tools in half an hour as said. But not on a bend on the hard shoulder of the m6. Albert

    New underwear required!!

Well I'm certainly going to fit a new prop on the front and I may well consider it for the rear next time a uj goes. I've only ever press fitted ujs as I tend to find the needles go flying if I hammer them. As for the tool kit I do have one however it isn't currently in the vehicle due to a...

    New underwear required!!

Finally got home. I'll get pics up when I give it a better inspection. I'm wondering about the circling not being seated properly but as it's pretty well smashed up so it's going to be hard to tell what was the cause

    New underwear required!!

No tools on me and not pushing it that far. Don't know the full extent of the damage. Last thing I want is the oil filter blowing off another 10 miles up the road

    New underwear required!!

Pretty certain it was a gkn one. I've done plenty before. Must have got something misaligned somehow. I'll be fitting a new prop anyway Albert

    New underwear required!!

Nope it didn't go all the way to kelmarsh. Stopped at a mates in Coventry and got a lift the rest of the way. I think it's a rapid failure of the uj bearings as the yoke has separated. No photos yet as I'm still on the side of the m6. Wave if you drive past! I'm between junctions 6 and 7...

    New underwear required!!

So, travelling back quite happily in the 110 from kelmarsh. Suddenly a loud grinding noise starts from the front end. Slow it down a bit. Noise still being there i decided to push it to the next junction. 200 yards later... loud bang, big dent in the floor and near miss in the underwear...

    50th Anniversary Heritage Edition

There seems to have been two versions. The v8s in blue is quite a well known one but this is a td5 in a very different style

Tips for buying landy thats not been on road or mot for a while...

If it's only top corners of the bulkhead then I wouldn't worry too much. Look further down the bulkhead under the bonnet to see if it had spread at all. Mine was quite obviously a duff repair and had spread all the way down. Even if it does need a little work then I wouldn't worry about it. My...

    50th Anniversary Heritage Edition

Hi all, I know that Land Rover have done the recent heritage edition with the last of the defenders but does anyone know much about the 50th anniversary heritage defenders? Some friends have a 110 sw which I have known about from new but it's only recently twigged that it might be summat...

    Painting plastic trim

I was thinking using rattle cans. I have full spraying gear but I need it doing as and when rather than worrying about dragging out all my kit for each coat

    Winch wiring

I thought as much, it's all new heavy duty cabling anyway but I'll get a load of fresh cable ready and heavier than what's already on the winch as it seems a little on the thin side. I've got all the proper crimps, crimpers etc for heavy cable so it'll be a proper job. Thanks Albert
