My 1979 S3 all original axles had 10 spline hubs.

It's on a later Series 3 chassis and rear Salisbury axle. A lot of non original parts mixed with a few period correct 1958 stuff. What ever it took to keep it going over the years has been used I guess. Nothing wrong with that but I'd class it as a bitsa

What ever you do don't scrap the bulkhead. It looks very saveable if you have basic fabrication and welding skills.

It's not a '59. That 276 chassis number denotes a 1962 build year. If there is a discrepancy between the chassis number it has now on your V5c and what is recorded on old mot certs absolutley do not contact dvlc without speaking to the Vehicle Registrations Officer from the Series 2 club. You...

What's a 'splitter box'?

Series 2/2a/3 front axle case. No rot in diff pan. Removed from a S3. £25 collect Glasgow. Happy to box for own courier. Weighs about 20kg.

4.7 diff removed from front axle of 1983 S3 swb. Fully stripped to check bearings then reassembled. New oil seal and a good pinion flange fitted. £40 collect Glasgow. Happy to box if arranging own courier. Weighs around 30kg

A new replica S2 chassis from Richards is £2262 plus delivery. If paying a professional garage to do the work I'd imagine not much change left from £5000 once all the unexpected extra cost are taken into account, wiring, brakes ect.
