I obviously cant comment on the state of the alloys or the actual tyres fitted to the rims but I can confirm that Grabber AT's are a fantastic tyre both on road & off. Slightly increased road noise but that about it, work really well in mud etc

Never towed a caravan but I regulary tow the missus' horsebox with 2 horses in it, last time I took it over a public weigh bridge it weighed 1950KGs total. Besides the obvious issues when climbing steep hills I think the Freelander is a decent tow car, never once felt concerned over the...

Sounds like the problem only surfaces when the radio is on..? You could always leave it off & entertain the kids by playing eye-spy or singing "the wheels on the bus"? I blame Nick too, dont know who he is but its got to be his fault! On a serious note; good luck in finding the problem...

I usually find that turning the stereo up a couple of notches usually cures most bumps, clicking & squeaks. My money would have been on a CV joint if the clicking was only apparent on lock but if its there when running straight it almost certainly rules that out. Wheel bearing on its way out...

It'd probably fit underneath your Defender wouldn't it?

I've been tempted to ask the same question about the same area a few times but didnt because of the reasons stated above; Too many tits abusing the lanes, lots of hard work to actually find the lanes, then making sure they're open for use. Sounds like hours of preparation before you set off...

I think you'll be suprised how little weight difference there is between a 17" & 15" alloy with tyres fitted. Regardless of rim size, either 15" 16" or 17" need the same (almost) circumference. I'd assume that the steel rims would be marginally heavier than alloy. Finally for all this...

Having lived with GT Grabber ATs for the last couple of weeks I can honestly say I cant fault them. A little more of a rumble on the road but I've yet to have them stuck off road in either very muddy fields while shooting or on the off road course at Billing. Couldnt recommend them enough

Sorry for asking the dumb question but you're not mistaking the leak as the drain from your a/c?
