    What's that chuffing noise

Oops, so that's 3 head gaskets.1 manifold gasket, 1 sticky valve/tappets. Must admit I've ordered head gasket set already as I'm probably going to check it anyway

    What's that chuffing noise

think the process is going to be 1 remove manifold see if any obvious damage to gasket, new manifold gasket, if that doesnt do the trick then could it be the head gasket - or is it worth putting a new head gasket on anyway?

    What's that chuffing noise

err thats a good point - the air pressure in the cylinder would still be pushing air out

    Series 3 First break down

I know you all love a mechanical mystery or an engine based enigma so whats gone wrong here. New distributor cap, new contacts (so I've got old ones as spare). Plugs out cleaned and gapped. Turned the key and the bloody thing started first time and, although not been out on road yet, is...

    Series 3 First break down

You'd need a bigger trailer😂 Of course Citroen solved the issue when they made the 2cv safari. In typical Citroen fashion they decided the best way to make a CV 4wd was to add a second engine in the back driving the rear wheels linked to the same throttle. This meant if one engine broke you...

    Series 3 First break down

Yeah got one of them already and points but ordered another set as the one on its probably knackered so replacing that , I might buy a trailer and another land rover to put on it so if I break down I just swap the one on the trailer for the one thats broken down

Of course you diesel drivers don't mind if you break down, the journey takes the same time walking as it does in a diesel

    Series 3 First break down

After 13 months owning it and 3500 miles. It let me down for the first time. Started miss firing , popping and losing power, pulled over to check things and took the distributor cap off and the sprung loaded contact to the rotor arm fell out. Guess I know what the issue was. Luckily only 10...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Took the back wheels off the series to repaint, whilst both sides jacked up noticed the hub turned even though the hand brake was on, shouldn't be able to with prop shaft hand brake on. Spent ten minutes checking things before remembering that's how a diff works 😂

space saver would look silly on the bonnet as well, easy solution for the mot is dont take the spare with it
