just had a look again today and the only place the Earth lead actually works is under one of the bolts on the rocker cover, it starts every time and hits over fast.

Yes I have the starter Earth to the chassis, it’s the actual battery Earth I think is causing the problem now, where is the best place to bolt that Earth . The old starter did spin on the bench but not as quick as the new one.

Ok just taken the new starter off and it spins on the bench so not faulty, new battery fitted as well, where should the earth strap from the battery be bolted, it’s bolted to the battery cradle at the moment, I put a jump lead from the battery Earth to a bolt and it started once but won’t do it...

Decided to buy another starter for a quick repair, that starter is only clicking when I turn the key not even turning over slowly, I have put power directly to the starter and nothing, looks like the starter they sent me is faulty, what are the chances.

My series 11A has developed a clicking noise from the clutch pedal area, if you put a little pressure on the clutch pedal just the weight of your boot is enough it stops . Any ideas Thanks Chris

These just come up with Error on the screen, the reverse camera is working fine, I am sure they used to work , I was just fiddling with me buttons while waiting for the wife and noticed they don’t work now, any ideas apart from don’t fiddle with buttons. Thanks chris

Brought a new tow rope for me 11A yesterday and today it conked out, seems to be the fuel pump, if you keep primming the lever it starts and runs ok, if you let it stand I think petrol is leaking out the pump emptying the bowl.

Thanks for the advice, I may be brave and have a go, unless I can find someone with some experience , it’s in the dry so not an outside job, my fear is I will get out my depth with it and it’s in bits. Thanks Chris

Yes same noise, sounds like a steam train when you are going up hill, the Engine runs sweet if you knock it out of gear. Come to think of it it’s worse in 4th gear

My gearbox is making more noise than the engine, in fact I can hardly hear the engine these days, that said it still works fine, is there a common part in the box that fails with time or is it a case of box out and replaced with recon one, never done this job before and not sure I can. My stop start seems to work all the time, the first thing I do is switch it of every time I get in, I hate this feature on any car.
