HELP! 110 died 30 minutes ago.

mate said his 200tdi starter was £80 odd from bedford batteries, had to exchange the old unit tho. Can't you get a new solenoid kit for it? I know they do one for the 300 starter for £30odd ish

Removing power steering pump... Help please.

As Rick says, the system should be self bleeding, if you've still got some air in after lock to lock a few times you can bleed it from the nipple on top of the power steering box, best done with the steering straight ahead and the engine running, top up the fluid, use a ring spanner on the...

Removing power steering pump... Help please.

make sure you're trying to undo the actual pipe and not the casting bit, it's easier to get it off before you remove the pump so there's something solid to go at. Here's a pic of my old one with the pipes disconnected to give you a clue...

Removing power steering pump... Help please.

Loosen the bolts on the pully with the belt on to stop the pully spinning, then remove the belt, remove the pully and you'll see the bolts holding the pump on, take the hoses off first from underneath. You've lost me on the alternator sharing bolts tbh.

    Any one at Billing today?

I was there from Thurday night with my 90 and the Argo on the Northants 4x4 stand. I thouroughly enjoyed it, lovely weather, nice relaxing weekend and a few beers with good friends. I didn't get much, few tools and bits, it was handy to do my MOT preps when you can trot off for the odd light...

    1995 300tdi Defender 90 Electrical issue

Cheers matey, looks like I've got to remove the clocks and most of the dash to get at the loom, it runs behind the grey panel with the vents in and splits off to the fuse box rather than where I was attacking it in the pics. There no factory imobiliser, but I had one fitted for the insurance...

    1995 300tdi Defender 90 Electrical issue

Vehicle died last week. Worked out it was an electrical issue as no power to the fuel stop solenoid, so I bypassed it straight to the battery to get me home. I found the original white wire to the stop solenoid had been bypassed already, I traced this back today to find it had been bodged...

    Reverting to stock suspension

Have a look at the MIB twist kit on their site If you have the full kit on yours, it'll have castor corrected arms, new extended mounts etc. so you'd have to do a whole lot of swapping out to revert to standard! If it was a standard 2" sus lift, it'd just be a case of swapping the springs and...

    Whaddon

Could have a good day at Yarwell on road tyres, or Tixover if you stay out the clay pit, I'd avoid Whaddon & Devils pit without some beefy tread tho!

Advise needed: Clunking noise at the rear when taking off - What can this be?

Take it for a spin and warm it up until you get the noise. Lie underneath it and get someone else to drive off, see if you can pinpoint the origin. Could be something as simple as a brake caliper bolt loose, or the exhaust.

    Wide Wheel Arches

I think you can get away without encroaching on the Diesel cutout too much, though it mite depend on the make, my mates were fitted a bit higher then mine but squiffy to avoid the cutout, he had to re-fit them over the corner of the cut out to make them square. Mine were fitted square only...

    Discovery, which one?

Can't help on the disco questions, I'd keep the fender :D but if you're going to get another trailer, get the mesh sides and you'll fit just as much as the bigger trailer in it ;)

    Defender twin horn wiring

I used the existing wiring, piggy back spade connectors seemed the easiest to use, so you can bounce the feed over to the second horn.
