Take the cardboard cover off which is at the bottom of the dash in the n/s footwell, motor is right there, plug at the bottom. 3 screws/bolts to undo and it'll drop out. simples. should take about 5 mins to have it out.

i had a similar problem, i had nice gearchange then submerged the car in water.... now its slightly stiffer, so some fresh MTF it is then! unless theres something else to look out for when uve got a gearbox wet?
