To narrow down the search for the air leak: put some clear fuel pipe inbetween fuel tank and lift pump and between lift pump and filter and between filter and injection pump - you will be able to see the bubbles in the clear pipe and it will indicate at what point the air is getting in ;)

The fuel lift elbows on top of the tank can be porous and allow air into the fuel lines as can the sedimentor. It only has to be a pin hole for the air to get in - you won't see fuel leaking out usually either - most people bypass/remove the sedimentor as if its not sealed correctly it will...

Fill up with NEW clean pump diesel and add 2 litres of petrol to the fuel tank - the clean diesel and petrol will clean out your fuel system - let us know how it goes ;)

What engine is it?? What colour is the smoke?? Does sound like there is air in the fuel lines.... on disco's a good place to check is the fuel lift elbows on the top of the fuel tank - underneath the carpet in the boot (under the round inspection cover) and you should check the fuel...

I had a snag getting my swr down from 10 :eek: until i used a spanner to screw the aerial into the mount fully ;)

In that case you might as well remove all of the silencers and have a straight through to the back exhaust :eek:

1st thing to do: get a coolant sniff test done to see if there is exhaust gasses in with the coolant (Head Gasket Failure) - most garages can do the test cheaply.

Hes talking about a bolt with 2 nuts to insert and crush the rivnut. I've got a rivnut insertion tool and it makes using rivnuts VERY easy ;)

If you are tweaking the turbo a turbo gauge is a good investment - so you can see what boost you are getting at different engine rpm/conditions. Most recommend a max boost of 1 bar at the inlet manifold ;)

Couple of litres of petrol per full tank of diesel - does the same thing ;)

People also use a couple of litres of petrol in a tank of diesel as a fuel system cleaner - cheaper than some of the specialist cleaners ;)

Here's a bit of info: Have a look what the contents of the injector cleaner is on the bottle ;) It won't say as most of em don't but they are kerosene :) New veg oil is a very good fuel system cleaner too ;)

Rivnuts - so you can remove the panel easily to access the wiper motor/wiring/door lock - used rivnuts and M6 hex head bolts - proper job ;)

You'll notice that the intake gasket also incorporates the exhaust gasket into a single gasket - so the manifold will have to come off to change the gasket ;)

They do tend to run better after a dose of injector/fuel system cleaner - but watch your fuel filter doesn't clog up with **** out of the tank ;)
