I'd go with pump timing - you only have to be 1/2 a tooth out and it will smoke!! ;)

I'd top it up to just below full and keep an eye on it...................

You got a 13mm spanner?? Tighten the cover down using the 3 captive bolts on the cover and order a gasket off ebay asap...

If its above the exhaust manifold it will probably be the rocker cover gasket leaking... If its below the exhaust manifold it could be the head gasket or turbo oil feed/ return pipe connections... If the leak is as bad as you say it needs sorting before you drive any distance ;)

What engine is it? Could be: rocker gasket, turbo oil feed, head gasket Any oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil?? Can you see where the oil is coming from with the engine running???

Well tuck your skirt in to your pants and get it sorted!!! :p

I'd use heavier cable from the alternator to the common live on the starter motor to cope with the possible 100amp output of the alternator ;)

Check the voltage you are getting at the battery using a multimeter set to volts you should be getting 13v+ at idle ;) But if the warning light is on/dim with the engine running it looks like your alternator is on its way out !

Yep as above - there is a locating pin on the end of the crankshaft that aligns the flywheel - so it can't be in the wrong position!! :) As JM says - most flywheels have more than 1 hole through the starter teeth ;)

Could be the starter relay - one of the yellow ones under fuse box ;)

The starter motor earths through the engine so you need to check the engine earth strap too ;)

Trace the negative lead from the battery to gearbox etc........ Remove and clean earth bolt on points 1 at a time - as said above use a jump lead from the negative on the battery to a good clean earth point on the engine and then try and start the engine ;)
