I studied it carefully and it is a great one! Since that setting in the car was probably used so rarely I think there could be some debris inside the potentiometer that affects the reading. You could relate to an old stereo when you were moving the volume knob and it would make that...

I'm pretty sure that my problem is with the potentiometer as sometimes it beeps crazy between the TRANSFERBOX NEUTRAL and HIGH RANGE. Do you have the correct readings that the potentiometer should be operating with? We are going try to rebuild the carbon tracks with a new design and go the...

Thanks for your reply. As per diagnostic kit I do not have any thing Land Rover specific. I am stringing things together using Autoboss V30 and Autocom. I'm going through the BMW X5 connections since the only Range Rover on there is the 4.4 V8. I have some error codes there I believe and I...

Can anyone tell me where I can start on this: TRANSFERBOX NEUTRAL message with a chime. It doesn't affect the drive it just drives me crazy. Video below: (by the way is there a BB code to embed YouTube videos in the post on this forum?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8Iu92_Mc4Q

So here is another productive day. I've carried out some more servicing changing the air filter, pollen filter and the fuel filter. And most importantly fixed the steering rack - no more up and down play (which is an MOT failure) and fully functioning electric adjustment up and down and...

As well as addressing the other issues I decided to look at the rear wiper. First it was a bit rusty and was making a horrible banging noise. Bending it back to shape helped. Some pictures: First to diagnose the pump and it was okay. Next onto the boot and the line running the screenwash to...

So I'm back from US briefly and resumed work on the Range. Today new filter and oil. According to Autodata the engine takes 8.75L. While I was at it I also cleaned the bay to make it a nicer place to be: As per my malfunctioning mirrors I also found the cause. The cogs...

How to fit bluetooth in early L322?

I have a Parrot CK3000 Evolution fitted which is good enough although there is a separate Nokia speaker on cable under the seat. It still mutes the audio in main speakers still.

And I get that everything gets clogged up and oil gets some filings that break things. But that usually breaks one or two things and the rest of the box is fine. Gearboxes are not that expensive on eBay although the computer programming again will be challenging. I am not looking forward to the...

My car won't see a piece of road that is not tarmac really and it isn't used on daily basis since we have more cars. Fingers crossed on the gearbox. What were the symptoms of the diff running dry? How did you notice?

Besides I know that BMW claim the oil is for life when clearly is not the case. I may just sue them on that basis get the new gearbox free LOL. The oil is for life since oil doesn't brake haha.

Do you do all work at the garage? Or just buy parts and fix it yourself? Just reading the previous posts it seems like RR is a heap of junk - not a masterpiece of the flawless British engineering. I may just clean it up and sell it. If not I will take your advice @RRkev and clean the cooling...

Well once it goes you have nothing to lose. :) May as well jack it up and rip it out then dig inside. Find some part numbers during the autopsy etc. The only tricky part can be the programming if necessary but everything is possible. If/when I get round to ripping that box apart I will post some...

We can only hope. I got the exploded view diagram in the RAVE so I will just rebuilt it with my dad. Gearbox does not judder or gives any problems for now - touch wood. I'm enjoying the car a lot. I have a 2012 Mercedes but I kinda enjoy riding the Range more.

Haha well that fills me with faith. It has FSH from Land Rover. I will give them a call to ask about it. How much does it usually cost to get a replacement? And/or how much is refurb? Regards, Jake
