New Defender - a waiting game

Yes, I was going to wait for a Grenadier also... but not keen on their interior and goodness knows when they will be available... I doubt Slovakia will be a market near the top of their list of priorities. So realistically I wouldn't get one earlier than 2 years from now.

New Defender - a waiting game

Placed an order back in March for delivery in July. Got pushed back to August. And today the dealer rang to say it has been pushed back to December...and they need to take away the towbar option otherwise it would be delayed into 2022. But that they will fit it after delivery. Mine is only base...

    Series 2 Fairey overdrive

Hi all, I have a guy interested in buying my Fairey Overdrive, I just wanted to make sure it will fit his S2a 2.25 petrol. I am pretty sure it will based on what I have read on here and online, but can anyone confirm? Cheers. Mike

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

Cheers rubberknees. I only waited about 2-3 minutes. I'll return to it in the morning.

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

I've put everything back, no errors come up. However, the car doesn't rise at all. How long should it take for the car to raise after completely emptying the system? I took out the pipes and there is air coming out of the reservoir and suspension bags. Am I just being impatient and should I wait...

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

Well I reconditioned the valve block by replacing all the seals, I'll fit it tomorrow and use the replacement driver pack. Will see what it does. I managed to disconnect the pressure sensor too. I don't think it is the battery as I had it tested and results came back as good.

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

I've taken the valve block out, the replacement driver pack doesn't look particularly new and shows signs of being fitted before. The current one certainly looks in better condition from the outside. What do you guys think? Anyway, how would I switch the wires from the green thing to the 'new'...

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

I will need to locate it first and investigate. What is the black plastic Dunlop piece at the front of the engine bay? Is that it? I will recondition the valve block with new o rings etc and whilst it is out I'll swap over the driver packs.

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

I have a replacement driver pack that is supposedly new but I am not sure as it seems to have been fitted before. Trouble is I don't have any experience with these complex systems.

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

I despair. Seemed OK, then lifted it and raised it a couple of times and then not sure. Compressor ran for ages, danced a bit, then stopped and seemed OK again. Not really sure I know what I am looking at :(.

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

Ok, original fault is back. As before intermittent. However, since reconditioning the compressor it is working better and now it is clear the front raises and lowers intermittently. I noticed it when stationary and at idle. Didn't throw up a fault at this time though, fault only comes up...

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

Yes, I didn't expect them to be original. I don't have much service history but it has only done 51k kilometres since new. The shocks need replacing so that is next on my list. I overhauled the compressor today with a kit from X8R and the difference is as clear as night and day. Before it would...

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

Year and week of manufacture is stamped in the rubber, 95-44 and car was first registered in 1996.

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

I've replaced 3 out of 4 bags... last one to do either today or tomorrow. First time I've done anything like this and relatively straightforward. Anyway, the car was still on its original bags from 1994/1995. They were properly perished. They seem to have held air ok, but who knows for sure. I...

    Anyone have a New Defender?

I've seen the videos on YouTube... TLM was the channel, or something like that. I have use of a company Amarok which is very good, hopefully I'll have a chance to buy it outright after it is 4 years old. There is a good deal on Toyota Land Cruisers over here at the moment but there is no...

    Anyone have a New Defender?

I have been thinking about buying one... but after speccing one up and getting a quote I don´t think I will get far beyond the ´thinking´ part. Anyway, has anyone bought one and what are your thoughts? Mainly in terms of reliability, but I guess the model is too new for any long term issues to...

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

That is a good shout! I was gonna buy from Paddocks but the fronts are 10 pounds cheaper each from island. Plus their airfreight is cheaper. Cheers! What did you do... I think I may have read a post about what happened months ago but can't remember

P38A EAS fault that I am unable to diagnose with certainty

Right, I changed wheels today and the air bags are properly buggered. Perhaps not quite leaking but they are totally perished. I will change these first, then monitor whether the EAS LEDs flash up again and if so my replacement driver pack should arrive by then. Parts for the compressor and...
