....i changed mine...beware of the really rubbish plastic stitched clips that tear along holes when you unclip them....there is no replaceing them.....and take your time when unsticking the heated seat element.......when it's done it is v comfortable. Nick.

........cranked it for a while to get the oil around, then reset the petrol inertia switch and started third turn.........no airlocks, no leaks......but it did run out of mot whilst changing the engine........ Nick.

Heres another for you......note the small alteration to the radiator:doh:........mind you thats nothing compared to the moment when the bolt securing the oil seals failed on the engine hoist:eek:

:)........It's in and nearly done but one of the seals failed when filling with water so have to re-fill and all will be good............

.....was the engine noisey? I have not heard of any faults with timing chains in these as they tend to be rattly before faults occur....

Hi.......no it isn't, spent three and a half lonely days out side in the cold trying to strip mine down in the car, only to find it was very poorly. Just doing the re-build before it goes back in the car as engine just come back from V8 Devlopments.......but had to undo all work i did today and...

Can you not check timing roughly to make sure at num one on dizzy when one is at top of cylinder?

.....lpg here is still 64 ish a litre so not the end of the world add to which most of my fuel is paid for by work as most of my miles are for work.... Nick.

....the really sad thing is that in these motors the whole thing is obscured by the alternator etc........and the best way to see the new engine is to look at the sump!!!

...you could try a trial fitting with double sided tape or similar to see where they work best.......do the instructions not hint at where is good and bad? Nick.

Engine is sitting here ready to be installed........very shiney, very nice! ....see you in three days.....

.....mine had a bad seal in the connection on the front right, just by the Shock turret.....worth checking but difficult to see initially. Nick.
