Once again, it is demonstrated that Wammers knows everything. It was the prop shaft front spicer. Thanks Tony

    DSE vibration on neutral throttle

Just started noticing this week there a vibration at 60 to 70 mph on neutral or slightly trailing throttle. Any ideas what it could be? I though drivetrain, but I'd expect that to be worse under load.. .?

Cool, thanks. Yes, it seemed to bleed ok, and the bRakes work fine now.

2.5dse Oil change, dirty old bugger

Magic stuff synthetic.. In the early 90s, when TWR were building race engines, they tried to break them in using Mobil Formula 1, and failed because it was so good at keeping the surfaces apart. They had to use comma mineral or some such junk to get the engines run in, then switch to...

    leaking brake lines

Just done by gstmans method. Not too bad, and I only cut one finger open this time. So, I needed to bleed to left rear, and did it by the old way. Lots of air came out, then nice clean fluid. Have I done it right? What's the official procedure?

    P38 Brake fluid leak

I just had this happen to me too. The pipe which goes down the right and then crosses to the left rear has sprung a leak by the top of the Right rear airspring. I have it all jacked up, but it looks like a very tricky thing to thread a new pipe down the side, then across without bending it out...

    Dse oil filter

What a beautiful thing it was to watch the stream of warm black oil drain out of the engine, like a solid bar of shininess, not a hint of turbulence in the stream. Oh, sorry, came over a bit queer for a moment.

hawkeye , should I update version 5 to version 6

Why don't you ask the people who are selling you this stuff? It's much more likely they will know rather than us.

Thanks, you are a saint. What confused me was the top of the oil filter cover has a directional arrow pointing clockwise on it.

    Wheel width for M+S

I knew someone would make that quip. Winters over here are worse than you get. Usually snow and lots of it. Temperatures of -8 are common. We have seen -18 in recent years.

    Wheel width for M+S

Yes Tony, I remember. Do you think M+S or winter tyres are a waste of time?

    Wheel width for M+S

I previously had a thread on tyre width.. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/tyre-size-243426.html I want to revisit this question of 7" rims with M+S tyres on a p38. I didn't get any tyres last december, so I still have these disco rims waiting. The reason it's become more important is...

It's like when there is a gruesome crash on the other carriageway. All the numpties slow down to look. As a result we have a 2 hour delay to our journey. Same thing here. True story.
