    1994 D1 srs fault

2nd hand ebay srs ecu fitted today and the srs light is now working as it should. I found two faults one on each crash sensor, the drivers wasn't plugged in fully while an earth strap had chafed through the wire to the passenger side and shorted it out. I think this must have fried the ecu.

    1994 D1 srs fault

Ab Landrovers in Market Weighton have the kit to scan these and they scanned it for me this afternoon, however it looks like my srs ecu is fried.

    1994 D1 srs fault

I have checked and cleaned every connector and replaced the clock spring with 2nd hand one. I did find two issues the right hand crash sensor wasn't plugged in correctly and the left hand crash sensor had a wire chafed exposing the core, I have fixed both but the light still flashes hence...

    1994 D1 srs fault

I am not sure, I went for a drive last night and after a while it was on all the time, ignition off and restarted and it was flashing once again. If I pull the fuse out it is on permanently.

    1994 D1 srs fault

Today I renewed the clockspring as I had a spare and checked all the connectors plus the fuse. All I found was a chafed wire on the left hand airbag sensor - actuator which I repaired however the srs light is still flashing. I can't find an obd port anywhere however there is a strange blue...

    1994 D1 srs fault

    Starting and ignition woes

Yes if the ecu doesn't get a signal the injectors won't fire.

    Starting and ignition woes

One of the wires that goes through the resistors sends a signal to the ecu and its only 5v. I am convinced it was a bad connection on these try cleaning the terminals on the resistors and renewing all four spade connectors

    Starting and ignition woes

I had similar but changed the coil and ignition module first and still wouldnt start. Tested all the LT wiring and joints with a meter and all tested fine, in desperation I replaced every spade connector and it fired straight up and has done every time since.

    Retrofit aircon 300tdi discovery

My understanding is the kits were for new dealer stock vehicles that hadn't had aircon fitted at the factory so it could be fitted if a customer wanted it. The kit was very comprehensive and came with full instructions, several people were selling them off very cheaply in the late 90s.

    Retrofit aircon 300tdi discovery

It was brilliant value at the te and totally transformed the discovery, I have had a look for the instructions I got with it as I am sure I will have kept them but not had any luck so far. It did include a list of parts which would be very useful.

    Retrofit aircon 300tdi discovery

When they were new aircon was a dealer fit option, when the td5 was introduced landrover sold off the kits very cheaply. I got one and fitted it to my 300tdi, it took just over a weekend, I can't remember exactly what needed changing but I do remember the dash having to come out as did the...
