Lift pump is new and injector pump reasonably new and running really nice. It pulls like a train! and goes through the gears really fast then tops out at 50. Don't get me wrong it can hit 65 but is revving it's backside off!

I'll climb back up later and double check the numbers.

Iv just crawled under and had a good look I can't see any sticker on for the ratio - I even took the middle seat out and looked from the top! All I could see was the letters/numbers stamped on: Frc6104 KVM 1a Can this tell me anything?

While on the motorway in my 200 tdi disco engine conversion 1987 90 is at it's top speed at 50 mph. Anything above 50 it is revving too high for comfort. Also while driving along at this speed I often have a convoy behind me on single track roads and other landrovers (defenders) overtake me...

Well a quick update i have removed the wading plug and had a good look and there's no belt dust and belt looks perfect so it was definitely the injector pump causing it to ride over and shred. This new pump is awesome too loads more power! Just thaught is update in case anyone searches if they...

Yes I can see your point, but I want to learn to weld and I would practice first. If I don't learn to a good enough standard I'll not do it myself. Don't worry I'm not daft I will make sure it's safe but thank you for the advice.

Thanks again jamesmartain what sort of welder and amp power would I need? I would rarther learn to do it myself and it's another step towards self sufficient motoring!

I would like to learn to weld but have no experience at it. Would it be a job I could do diy at home? Iv done a lot of stuff to it myself eg. Clutch, injector pump, timing belt ect would this be possible for an enthusiastic learner to manage this job?
