+1 on that - super helpful in tracking down intermittent ABS sensor faults :)

And if there are no faults stored, the ABS light will blink out before re-illuminating until road speed reaches 4mph... if it comes on with ignition and does not extinguished, then there is a retained historical fault :)

Thanks - just want I needed to know - will dig out the connector :) 2001, so reluctor ring based sensor technology. May have blown out with rust (I have had to replace the NSF for this reason). Could also be broken cable... might just have to bite the bullet and go through the painful process...

Those three amigos are friendly chaps aren’t they? Mine have popped back to say hello. Diagnostics tells me it’s the right rear sensor causing grief this time. The fault appears intermittent - intermittent in that the lights can go away… bad connector perhaps? I will need to dive in to find...

Update: success! The Irwin-style bolt extractor tool did the job. I initially gave it some love with the extractor on my impact driver and then simply applied some elbow grease with a ratchet on the extractor socket and it came away nicely. The unthreaded shoulder of the screw had corroded...

Thanks - yes, I ordered an equivalent kit of bolt extractors from Amazon earlier this morning. I directed all the heat (with a weld) to the bolt itself, rather than the hub. I could try heating the hub, but would rather avoid this if possible (rubber bushes/ rubber gaiters/ grease in wheel...

Forgot to mention this - but tried that (hammer and chisel approach) too! I wasn't having a great day yesterday... heat and frustration! lol

That’s always a possibility - but as a new Bosch OEM sensor is only £15, then so long as I can get the old one out, everything ought to be golden :D

Lithium sulphur likely next (and perhaps sodium sulphur) but these will be some years before seeing commercial application… I really don’t think that batteries have fully matured yet.
