If Im driving in 3rd and engage the OD just like shifting in another gear, can I then shift into 4th with the OD still engaged. The reverse the process till I'm in 3rd and disengage the OD before shifting into 2nd.

I don't think the brakes sticking or frozen. Move and stops fine, no pulling to either side. Emergency brake does it's job and releases.. It's a SuperWinch OD ( formerly Fairy I think) I have the Manual , haven't read it yet. It's position straight up, close to middle of seat. I would believe...

I don't see it as a stupid question, Its an honest one. I believe that the red knob lever is forward for high range, middle disengages and ok ulled back low range. Yellow knob down for 4 wheel drive No sure where the overdrive shift. Pulled back tight to the seat. Not sure if that's right.

I thought of that. Planned on peek behind the transmission cover(rectangle cover) to look for any debris while doing a fluid change. It difficult to find 90 w oil in the GL4 class If I'm describing it correctly.

Hi, maybe I shouldn't say slow. When starting off in 1st gear it really drags. Almost like I'm pulling something. Seem like I have to shift into 2nd in a very short travel span. 3rd and 4th seem normal. Speed is around 40. It equiped with OD but sure how us it yet. Could just be me,getting use...

Yes, powers at be are very anal about that sort of thing. The company is really not that far away in the big picture. Most likely drive if part was needed in a hurry.

I feel that the advice given from both Turboman and Steve is very sound. Back in the late 90's I almost bought a defender I decided against it ( very expensive). Later I bought a Willys SW more cost affective but no where in the condition of my present Landy. After a brief cruise from front of...

They only list full chassis but it's worth a shot...what's it going to cost me but a dime for a phone call. Most likely I'll strip it down anyway. More work but easier on the hard work (chassis repair). Figure better to see and repair with less obstructions. Thanks for gas tank removal info, I...

Guess I'll have to give the chassis an extensive inspection. I've been trying to degrease underneath to make it abit easier later. I'm sure at least 1 outrigger is pretty much gone as well as a cross member. Think I had to hear someone confirm my first impression to try and fix it first. What's...

Hi...thanks for your input. First it's a petrol or gas as I know it. The condition as I can tell isn't too bad. The chassis is another story. Your explanation makes perfect sense on how to approach the repairs. Honestly not really knowing if some is acceptable, repairable or too far gone needs...

Hi everyone, It's my first post so bear with me. We've only the owner of the 73 SIII for a little over a month. I plan to use it abit before I try to start any restoration. Chassis condition is at forefront of any decisions made. It's in poor shape. Not as bad as some...but still bad. My welding...

Hello to all. I'm Glenn, my son is John and we are the proud owners of a 1973 wagon 88. It has about 160000 which I guess isn't too bad for just about 50 years old. Engine sounds strong, starts right up. Might have had some previous work done to it, no recorded info . Everything mechanical seems...
