It’s more a case of the stabiliser bars are way off the holes where the towing eyes would be or the box section for the anti roll bar.

Chassis is not a new off the shelf it looks like a standard one sent for galv.

I have bought a 90 with a chassis that has been changed for a galvanised chassis I think it’s a 300tdi chassis although it has a Td5 tub and rear fuel tank. The rear crossmember doesn’t have the usual hole on the right. I have tried a <98 Towbar and a Td5 but haven’t found a fit. Has anyone else...

Good points above (no joke intended), I’ll go for complete new electronic dizzy as recommended. I’ll service the old one as a spare. That way it can always be slotted back in at ease if needed. There are some good videos on YouTube really simple swap out and coil type check explained.

Oh no.... I’ll let you know how they fit on mine. I’ll do a dry run before prepping and painting. I’m hoping for a good fit and good door closure. Fingers crossed they’ve improved.

Wow, that is amazing. Nice colour too. I have watched lots of videos and they make it look easy. I guess I have nothing to loose with the old seats they are in good shape just a couple of rips. Did you use leather or vinyl? How many hours would you say you put into it?

My thoughts are to keep as much of the original parts and re condition them, hence a re-trim. The delux are nice I had them in a previous S3, they are a bit softer too.

I would like all the windows to match ‘XXX’ type. Not a rivet counter just a bit OCD.

I guess you get what you pay for, I saw 2 Galvanised ones on eBay for £200 the pair. My worry is how they fit and lean into the door seal.

Thanks Kev12. They are quite expensive at £400 but I guess worth it in the log run. I’d be looking for the correct glass to build those and only do it the once.
