Been away for the weekend with Caravan. Its the 1st time i've towed it with a Freelander (55 reg TD4 HSE). Got it hitched up o.k. Got to site, couldn't get it off:confused: The caravan has an Alko stabiliser and the FL is fitted with a gen LR towbar(with spacer) and an ALKO ball. When you lift...

best 225x55x17 tyres for my fat chick?

If you swap more warn front with less worn back it causes extra wear on the drivetrain / VCU. I thought on FL that if fitting in two's the newest i.e largest diameter / circumference are to be fitted to the back to keep the drive balanced. Every time a new pair is fitted the newest should be put...

    Clutch Pedal Sticking

Well clutch been fine. 600 miles this week. Then coming home today on roundabout pushed pedal - it went straight to the bottom and wouldn't come back up. Luckily the lights were on green and I managed to get to a layby where i phoned for the cavalry! Looks like the seal on the master end but its...

    Viscous Coupling judder

Went Mondo last week as I was going on a 600 mile round trip. What a difference to fuel consumption! Seems a bit lite on the front though and not used to wheel spin when pulling out of junctions. I will see how it goes for now and might put it back before winter.

Cheers John. The relay is the same as the one you fitted. You obviously don't have the same problem. I will see if they will exchange it. Tony

    CD Player Upgrade 2002 Freelander

Hi I bought a cheap £50 Sony single CD with ipod input from Argos. It came with iso lead that plugged straight in. Steering controls aren't connected but I always forgot to use them anyway. This replaced the beige Phillips Cassette player. I left the multichanger where it is (I never had the...

    Freelander Air Con

I have used DIY re-gassing a couple of times. It is about 80PSI on the low pressure side when running. The secret is to warm the can in a jug of water to increase the pressure. It sometimes gets a bit slow as you get down the can but o.k. for me. Never have found the leak. I top it up once a...

I thought so. I studied pictures of both and couldn't tell the difference apart from about £100+ quid and a pair of gloves. Expensive gloves?

    Towbar and Electrics

Good thinking Ianda. Why didn't I think of that! I understand that Dixon Bate towbars are the same as LR original equipment. Is this right? I have seen a new Dixon Bate fixed one with electrics at a good price.

    Towbar and Electrics

Hi I need a bit of advice. I am looking at fitting a towbar to my 05 TD4 Hse. The first question is will the towball interfere with the reverse parking sensors? I've been looking at the electric kits available. I have found dedicated standard N type kits that just plug in. If i use...
