What have you done to your Freelander today

I'm quite pleased with them. Make the Scorpions on the front look very tame.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Had these fitted. The nearest to AT I've found in 225/55/17 Michelin Latitude Cross £120 each fitted.

    I Can't get Scorpion STR's :-(

Here you go Kizzieh :biggrin1: - They make the Scorpions on the front look like flip flops:D

    I Can't get Scorpion STR's :-(

I've stuck with the michelin latitude cross. Got them for £120 each fitted from local garage which seems very reasonable (Camskill price £109 + postage). Getting them fitted on Friday. I'll let you know how they perform.

    I Can't get Scorpion STR's :-(

Thanks Kiz. I will have a look. Just checking out Asda tyres. Latitude cross at £127 fitted by local Halfords - seems a good deal? Anybody had experience of buying through Asda?

I'm just looking at Latitude cross - Is this what you got?

    I Can't get Scorpion STR's :-(

I'm trying to get some 225 55 17 STR's but they seem to be in short supply. All they can get is Scorpion Verde. Anybody else got this problem?

     freelander vcu help

Mines just done 100K on original VCU. I check it every 6 months or so. I have always run the tyres as recommended (new to the back) and on the same type. Original Michelin then onto Pirelli Scorpion STR. If there was a good one I think I got it! Its only ever had oil, filters, tyres, two pairs...

Winter tyres...which ones do you have?

You can't argue with that!!!!!! It's a dear do with 225/55/17 on though if your keeping a spare set. I run on Scorpion STR and they seem pretty good in winter but seeing true winter tyres I might look for a spare set of wheels.

    Freelander Mpg

Mines about the same - slightly better since the disconnection of EGR valve (whatever that works out to).

    Dodgy starter motor solenoid on L-series Freelander, TD4, TD5 or K V6

Did this yesterday. Used the repairkitsuk kit. It was spot on. Glad I got this as some others don't include the plunger stating that it is not needed and will just need cleaning. I wouldn't like to rely on getting a good connection by just cleaning my old plunger. It was knackered completely...

Do you have to replace pads when doing discs?

I recently did mine. got disks and pads (Mintex) in a set for £52 inc postage from ebay. Much better braking since they were replaced. You have to take the pads out anyway and if the disks are u/s then they will probably have worn the edges off and grooved them.

    Dual Mass Flywheel Failure

Thanks for the link. It should be titled Gearbox oil (3 of 4 pages)! Anybody risked changing the clutch and leaving the DMF?

    Dual Mass Flywheel Failure

Hi Anybody had a DMF fail on a TD4 Freelander, what were the symptoms and what mileage did it happen at? The word is that the DMF is pretty much bomb proof and I am weighing up whether to swap it with the clutch or not. Thanks Tony

    Towbar wiring

Its in the main box under the dash. Its the one on the right hand side at the end. The original had 3 spades on and the Hella replacement that made the light work had 4 spades.

    Towbar wiring

My TD4 (2005) has the light. When I fitted the towbar there was a relay that had to be changed in the fuse box to boost the indicator signal to the wiring behind the back panel and this made the trailer light in the clocks work. Maybe the relay was not changed and it was wired with a booster...
