    Disco 1 front panel

Front panel is different on the 200 tdi in that the headlamp holes are smaller but they can be made bigger to fit the 300 lamps. I'm intending to do this to my 200 because I'm wanting to put 300 grill and lights because A) They're better lights and B) They look better too.

Hybrid front ;) what do you think ?

there's one like this on four weds and a funeral except it's green if iirc. I like the four lamp look also saves on adding spotlights that get knocked off invariably.

    Small question

should come out back of the dash with a plastic holder which may be part of the bulb or it might have a push fit capless bulb in, if its the push fit type should be able to pull the glass bit out of the plastic holder your local motor factors or them robbing fu'ks halfords should keep them i...

    Oil Change

top would be the easiest for the filter so long as you got long arms and are over 6 ft. If not your going under it reaching around the diff and propshaft. While your down there you might aswell take the sump plug off (30mm socket for that) and drain normally. them suction jobbys never get it all out

    can not get disco statred

by the sounds of it's an after market one as the genuine land rover one on my disco is remote operated one. I'm assuming that its diesel and I maybe wrong (some one will correct me if i am) but in theory if you run a wire from the positive battery terminal to the fuel cut off solenoid on the...

    Discovery soft top?

This ones on ebay at the mo, to do a soft top you leave the back out of the cab and take a piece out of the front part of the remaining roof similar to a suzuki sj410 soft top or just have the rear part open like some tartlanders iirc.
  15. shinydiscoball

    Discovery soft top?

Dont think body flex would be much of an issue as the chassis provides the rigidity to the car unlike say a ford fiesta which uses the body as a stressed member. Cut the roof of a fester without strengthening it will fold up under it's own wieght. If you search around on other threads on here...

    Diseasel or petrol.

buy a series 3 with a shagged engine and a rotten 200tdi disco, use the engine and maybe the box (will it go in a series 3?) out of the disco. Sell what you don't use on ebay and grab some money back.

Odd Size Spanners and Strange Tools..?

good chance that some bits originally designed for series vehicles have found there way on to discos n all so could be a right mix of af and metric
  18. shinydiscoball

Odd Size Spanners and Strange Tools..?

even though generally some af sizes are usable equivalant to a metric there is a slight difference ie i would use a 13mm in place of a 1/2af or vice versa. but 13mm is something like one or two thou over size against the 1/2af so your 13 gonna be slack on a true 1/2af nut and likewise the 1/2af...
