    Hit the soddin barrier today

Standard disco is 1960mm to roof bars. Says so on the sun visor. One thing to be mindfull off, I learnt this when transporting yachts, is that the barrier (or bridge clearance) is measured when installed, however the heights are rarely updated when resurfacing occurs. Ripped a fly bridge off a...

    Wading help

Reverse argument would be why have a 4x4 which only gets used on the road asking he kids to school? OR Why do we get hassles from green tree hungers about damage to the environment when executive cars and powerful estates have larger emissions that us in landys and the like. Because its a mad...

    Headlight condensation

I considered myself as providing a service by moving burnt out wrecks. I would have had the alloys of it but they had locking nuts.

    Headlight condensation

I have drilled holes in my indicators so water drains out, but then again, I go through indicators rather quickly. GreenHornet @ Tilford Lane - YouTube I this video I don't seem to have any??????? http://youtube.com/watch?v=Uua3okArLq4

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

I like the look of the heavy duty bumpers but they bend too much too soon IMO. I prefer heavy metal all round. If I'm gonna hit something then I want a piece of it..... Mines not pretty but it has beauty in its ugliness and both front and rear are stronger than most on the market. I will...

Up to my neck in water.....

Having your D2 rust away from the leaking sunroofs.......should be more concerned by the rusting chassis and I'm not joking... Only way is as said, remove and refit whilst sealing properly. Or like me, give up and by a disco without sunroofs.

    Headlight condensation

Every now and again I have to pop mine out and sit them in the airing cupboard.

    Disco pick up

As its not a commercial vehicle originally, then here shouldn't be axle weights but should be a gross towing weight etc I would have thought.

    Rubbed up and noisey.

If the pads are close to the limit then they can make noises. Have you checked your wheel bearing?

    Disco pick up

I have chopped the back end of my chassis and also I have done a bob tail with a friend and the law doesn't affect it. You should be ok if you do a bit more homework or someone comes along on the forum who has done something similar. What about tray backs etc, they can't all be registered...

    Disco pick up

All I would say is that if it were me replacing the chassis, I would not use the reg or weight class of the new replacement chassis, but work from the angle that I have modified the wheelbase of a discovery.
