Recon a galvanized chassis can be got for £1200, I did see this price a while back, seem to remember they were thinner right enough, I think I just kept fixing ours, cause we had owned it for so long and it had done us well, sentiment over practicality I'm afraid, tell you what though it's...

Can't get a refund from island 4x4, looks like they have taken a few weeks off, fair enough, just forgot to tell their customers, but still banked their money immediately :-(

ISLAND 4x4, one man band ????

Hi folk, has anyone had any joy with purchasing anything from the above company, or getting a refund, I ordered a WATTS linkage kit for my D2 from the above, around 23/24 dec, after taking the advice from many on our board, I cancelled the order, I have since had a few emails saying we don't DO...

    Disco 2, Watts linkage

Two years ago I started welding back to middle, this year I done middle to front, that's the whole chassis plated either in zintec or stainless, I learned a lot and would never do it again, body off is the way to go, spent 6 weeks lying on my back after work doing first part, since learned that...

Yes my front bar item 1 was totally gone, never bothered renewing, still got a bit of stainless pipe I was going to weld to the brackets, brackets still lying on workshop floor.

Haha, my whole rubber "D" mount ripped off, the rest was paper thin made a whole new front.

Probably find the rest of the chassis is not much better, especially at the front, behind the front bumper.

Hub removal from Discovery 3, that was seriously tight, the 12 pound mallet was not doing it, just hard enough to get a swing, so large bolt as jack, and once the gap started, penetrating oil down front, and more important pushed shaft in and sprayed from back, then two opposing wedges, result. :-)

Watts bush update,ok sales from ISLAND 4x4 have confirmed that they don't do "POLY" bushes and their others are Chinese, so they will refund me, ok back to square one :-)

    Disco 3 (LR3) Hub bearings

Aye, my 8 wheeler I ran for 6 years 2000 plate, owner driver for Bardon concrete (jaegar) done all my own maintenance, remember changing the clutch, had the gearbox balanced on my chest, then kinda tipped it to the one side, then clutch, dropped a sling down through the chassis rails and...

My Foden, best part was the Cat engine, loved it, I also really liked the eaton split box, loads of ratios to keep you moving, or great for off road with the 4 wheel drive, newer trucks had the cummings engine, it was not stepped wheel nuts, fairly normal nuts with a large rotating ring, Jake...
