Hub seals are not that hard to remove or fit. I've done enough of the things over the years.

The servo should keep the vacuum, unless you have a leak. With your engine switched off, it should take a couple of pumps of the brake pedal to use up the vacuum. Try it on any car, it will be the same.

It would be great if you could actually do that and get away with it especially if the car was parked on private land. But the way the justice system works in the UK you would probably do more time than the car thief.

Fly by wire is edc, so there is no accelerator cable.

Not all disco's were edc. I broke one for spares last year with an accelerator, that was a P plate and I've just bought an other N plate and that's non edc as well.

You can get a levelling devise for engine cranes, I think Sealey make one

Some body once told that there was 5ton breaking strain on seat belts. I don't know if it's true or not but I've used seat belts for engine removals, towing cars and even pulling trees out. Chains and seat belts are great for lifting engines but I wouldn't use nylon rope, I don't trust it
