Prehaps you should have done a bit of research first. Freelanders are 4x4's so they are going to be more juicier than a 'normal' car. Short runs are the worst for fuel economy for sure. Try some Millers in the tank, go for some long runs.....and :welcome2:

Update.... After clocking up a few more miles she's goin even better! As said, EGR bypass ftted no probs, also cleaned the MAP sensor on inlet manifold, also changed the MAF sensor several weeks ago. Overall I can feel a real improvement,she revs a lot quicker,is certainly smoother,and no more...

You'll certainly have to fiddle!!

replaced knackered horns, takes longer to remove grill than it does to do the feckin horns!

Fitted td5alive EGR bypass kit on me disco

Kit arrived on wednesday, quality bit of gear. Fitted it this morning, no probs at all, bolts undid a treat, took about an hour to do and I'm no mechanic! Been out for a test drive and she seemed to rev a bit better and feels a little smoother. Going for a longer drive tommorow

Had same prob with my '99 td5 a couple of weeks ago, trolley full of shopping in tesco car park, all doors would open except rear!! After much swearing and a red face had to throw shopping on back seats and drive off. On arriving home went to rear door and as if by magic the fecker opened...

....an EGR bypass kit from td5alive, might ave a go at fitting it next weekend if the weather's fine. Already started soaking the exhaust manifold bolts hoping they undo nice an easy...soon to let the fun begin

Try giving it a few thumps, if that dunt work I'm afraid tis a new changer as the lasers go out of line. Got a genuine replacement one for my disco on fleabay :)

They ain't cheap mate, had one replaced on mine when I had it at a cost of 400 quid!!
