    ball joints

The ball joints press home completely into the yoke carrier. If you look at the swivel hub, the 2 tapered holes the ball joints go into, the top one is just a plain hole, the bottom one is different. The ball joint taper on the lower one seats into a threaded collet sleeve, the idea being the...

    What mpg??

8 cylinders, 2.5 tons, permanent 4 wheel drive, 6 foot high and wide, 8 pints of unleaded isnt really going to get you very far! On the M6 and taking it gently the fuel thingy on my 4.6 gets up to 20 ish, I've no idea how accurate it is though, any hint of stop start driving like on rural roads...

these cans of fuel? why cans, why not fresh fuel from a filling station? how old was the petrol in the cans? was it actually petrol? not meths or paraffin? its a big coincidence that it started right after you put it in, oh a thought, had it run out of petrol and the canned fuel was to get it...

    4 wheel drive problem

oh in snow its high box and gentle on throttle, keep momentum on the ups and dead slow on the downs, landcruisers even have a switch labelled second start that cuts out first gear for snow and ice driving. So on your car, when you try and move gear lever over to the low range side, the lights on...

    side step brackets

The clean straight body lines of the P38 just doesn't suit them, they do however work brilliantly as body side protection, Mine had some fitted when I bought it but they had to come off as they were completely rotten, I'm surprised they actually survived the 100 mile drive home from picking the...

    Wiper noise

Are they on the right way round, when I got my car there was a clunking noise, turned out the drivers side blade was going off the top of the screen and onto the trim, it had had a new screen fitted and the arms had been put back on the wrong sides, the drivers side is shorter

    Holiday preperations :)

oh wheres your sence of adventure? its a p38 it'll be fine, :D

    Clunking noise

How close does your exhaust pipe run past the cross beam, if the engine mount rubbers are getting tired the engine could be flexing far enough to bang the exhaust pipe on the beam, I know on my 4.6 petrol there's not much clearence.

    Farting Noise..!!!!!!!

windscreen trim strips, either top or bottom, run a strip of insulating tape along the join to the glass and the scuttle trim panel, do bottom, try it and see if it stops, then the top if it didnt. The whole screen acts as a sounding board so its next to impossible to "hear" where the noise is...
