Break Fluid Leak - Advise needed

I was trying to keep my post short and simple, obviously there's "power" to all the brakes, 2.1 tonnes needs some sort of servo assistance to stop, I was trying to simply describe why its called hydrostatic and power to Dobby

Break Fluid Leak - Advise needed

Dobby, the P38 braking system is divided into 2 circuits, one to the front the second to the back. When you push the brake pedal you are pushing fluid to the front calipers thats the hydrostatic part, but pushing the pedal only opens a valve to the rears, fluid is pushed under pressure from the...

    V8 Exhaust touching crossmember

yeah crappy pattern part, I fell for it too, bought a new exhaust and the pipe into the back box was occupying the same space as the tyre, we had time so we just cut/welded it to where it should have been.

Is this the new Off road RR

Is this the new Off road RR

Now if they'd done a proper 4x4 with low range it would get out of there with a bit of manouvering:D

    Stretched Version

I see they cut corners doing the new rear doors, loosing the quarter glass couldn't have been that tricky seeing as they used front door lower halves, and for that reason, I'm out;)

    Handbrake question

Oh I remember greasing wheel bearings, when all cars were rear wheel drive the front wheels commonly had taper roller bearings, P38s dont have them, so he's a con artist I'd seriously consider calling trading standards

    gear lever problem

Well if you'd read my post last week about lifting the plunger all the way you might have saved yourself the embarassment, oh and its covered on page 102 in the owners manual if you have one, there's a copy in RAVE if you dont have the hard copy.

    gear lever problem

Does the lever work properly on the high side? that is it wont move until you push the lever on the underside of the lever in? it'll move between D and 3 without pushing button in but you need to push button in to go to 2 and 1?

p38 rear wheel locking on soft ground

on early cars the TC was an option, does your dads car have TC? If its locking the same wheel every time one of the other wheels spins that seems more like a locking up caliper, take it for a run and then feel the wheels, if ones got a binding caliper it'll be a lot warmer than the others

2 people, one on the pedal, one on the nipple with the clear tube, bleed fluid till its clear of any bubbles, tighten nipple and test firmness of pedal, signs of any leaks

    p38 heater

well do they obvious things like checking the pollen filters, they could be full of leaves if the foam is missing from the grill between the wiper arms, try the blend motors, use the manual selection buttons see if the air flow does move between the vents. When you say the fan is noisey, which...

Did you ever fit a P38 in the Eurotunnel Shuttle?

actually one flies, one's driver does that sort of thing, but I'll ask once he's finished polishing the gravel on the drive :D:D:D:D

    puzzled about my prop shaft

The prop wouldnt spin as its attached to the rear prop through the viscous coupling, thats how the 4 wheel drive system works on the P38, you'd need to jack a rear wheel off the ground as well as a front one to spin the props

    Headlight upgrade

some cars do have appalling headlights, I once had the misfortune of owning a citroen xantia, I had better lights on my push bike! P38 lights are great, i use philips extreme bulbs, still at 55 and 60 watt its all you need to see properly. The video, hes australian and probably needs to scare...
