    4x4 landrover parts..

First off, sorry for resurrecting an old thread. just wanted to buy a left and right handed front rope hook for my series 3 ragtop. - all the big online guys offer exmoor trim parts. - the total cost of which would be £3.90 -ish. POSTAGE to Aberdeen is anything up to £20:mad: We are mainland...

    views on Exhaust Air Jack

My dad had one which he used regularly when he was out with the caravan. He swore by it and recommended them to anyone who would listen. I have it now, but i've never used it:rolleyes:

Keeps cutting out after first few miles

I refer the 'onerable gent'man to my post in series engines entitled: "Mucky series 3 diesel tank" - although much worse than yours - symptoms were same - until it wouldn't start at all. If not dirt, then my bet would be lift pump. If it's old, i'd think about changing it anyway - the buggers...

    My series 2 barn find

ooh luverly! - if my ol' girl looks half as good as that when it's finished i'll be glad! -Although i want to try and keep this one as 'original' as possible - just 'cos i'd like to have at least one landy i can take to a vintage show (get lots of 'em up ere in darkest Aberdeenshire!)- shows...

    My series 2 barn find

Thanks - i think so to - although she shows signs of being 'ragged' until she died and then got left in the shed to rot (sigh)

    My series 2 barn find

On this one i'm with johnny - besides.... the woman i got it from would only sell it to me when i rashly promised that i would only restore it and not break it for parts. ....and a gentlmans word is 'is bond SAH! -on another note, i'll take all your advice about hoodwinking 'er in doors' on...

    My series 2 barn find

Crashbox - i might be ! - Although explaining to 'er in doors' why i have to drive down to milton' from Aberdeenshire just to look at a chassis might need some.....erm - constructive thinking!!

    My series 2 barn find

Yeah, i'm committed now. Although don't know how i'm going to get a new chassis past 'er in doors'!

    Mucky series 3 diesel tank!

Hi all, -had a problem last week with landy conking out half way up the road after an evening of off roading. got towed back and suspected dirty fuel. Changed filter as full of sludge. - still nothing. Decided to change Lift pump. was just about to refit the fuel line when i noticed something...

    My series 2 barn find

.....And the start of the strip down. -thought i would only need to do some welding to the chassis..... i was just inspecting the underside of the tub i'd just removed - when i heard what sounded like a crisp packet being crumpled and a soft thud. ...That'll be a new chassis then

Possibly suicide is the only way out - Series 3 info request

I have a series 3 diesel 'ragtop' i agree wiv them up there! I usually pull away in second (way i was taught in forces) unless you're uphill. My synchromesh has gone so i find it easier anyway. With a 'ragtop' i liken it to an openair Gypsymoth (and just as cold) Used it a few times to work in...

    Someones door hit mine

Folk round these parts (Aberdeenshire/Moray) hate 4x4's (probably 'cause they don't have one!) and i regularly find door level 'Dings' in my series 3 - used to get them in my defender too. I've had folk even attempt to box me in and even upfront verbal abuse. It used to bother me - now i just...

    Just a stupid question !!!!

-Just one quick addition, from my school boy days (when i collected such things -can't believe i was SOoooo boring!) Collectors like coins in 'as is' condition i.e. not polished or cleaned. I was always told that coins loose their value if they are cleaned/polished.
