P38 2.5DSE Diesel Cold Start Issue

I removed my tank, but it was nightmare as everything was rusted to everything else, but I got there in the end, it was still probably quicker than cutting and resealing the floor, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

P38 2.5DSE Diesel Cold Start Issue

I had exactly the same symptoms and it was the in tank fuel pump, check it as mentioned above by removing the fuel filter, putting a jug underneath the pipe and get someone to turn the car over, if you do change the pump, don't buy a cheap one, make sure you get an OEM version. There is a great...

    Got stuck again !!!!!!!

But in all seriousness , a bit of on road driving will scrub the newness off the tyres nicely, but be aware that wet grass slopes are best driven using momentum, the moment you stop, no amount of knobbly tyres is going to get you going up again, best thing is to reverse back down and use enough...

    Got stuck again !!!!!!!

Ian, when on the motorway, try weaving from side to side and braking sharply, like the F1 drivers on a warm up lap, pretty much like my wife's normal day to day driving:eek:

    Got stuck again !!!!!!!

Wet grass is a tricky one going up or down, I slid down a slope in wales sideways in my Defender TD5 a couple of years ago, a change of underwear moment. Wammers described it best, momentum is the key, not too low a gear, and a speed that you can tell will carry you to the top without spinning...

No I am fitting Gen III at twice the price, I was simply replying to O Bife's price quote from P38 spares, give it rest now, it's getting old.

I bought my Gen IIIs direct from Arnott via their european website, the sole reason being the limited lifetime warranty, I have always found it better with lifetime warranties to purchase direct if possible, file the invoice away somewhere safe, in my case the cars history file, and then if I...

I inherited my P38 from my late fathers estate, I will spend more money on it than it is worth simply as it was my fathers, if I wasn't fitting Gen III arnotts then I would definitely fit Gen IIs as the quality of the materials used is far superior to the standard versions and pretty much the...

The only reason I have pressed the point, is that people like me look at the historical postings (use the search) and read as much as possible to make an informed decision, when some one who is obviously very knowledgable posts they are a waste of time, it tends to put us mere mortals off. I...

Why would you consider me a smart ass, just for disagreeing with you. How do you know how much I know about mechanics, I could be an F1 engineer for all you know, although based on your stock replies, there was no point updating F1 cars from Fangio's days, "them disc brakes are a complete waste...

I decided to buy Gen III Arnotts because every single person I read about that had actually fitted them, described the on road handling was noticeably improved, I am much more interested in the on road handling than the extra off road height as my P38 will spend 98% of it's time on road. The...

Phil I have been looking at poly bushes myself, after much googling and reading various opinions, I will go with original rubber bushes mixed with Polybush's blue bushes for the sway bar. I am about to fit Gen 111 airbags and will report my findings once fitted.
