    If it makes you feal any better...... Put 2 new tyres on the front of mine 2 weeks ago. Drove off the forecourt, got to 60 and couldn't begin to descride the vibration!!! went back, had 2 new on the back (so 4 new all same) now drives like a new one. Must be a VCU thing!

    Might be worth unpluggin the MAF sensor connector and try driving. Mine was a bit like a dead dog at low revs until i replaced it, if it drives better low down unplugged then it's worth a go.

    How do you tell when they're "going" and what happens when they fail? (do they sieze up or just stop transfering to the rear wheels?)

    Thanks Guys, I thiink i'll go for the easy option and leave the airbag in! Anyone recommend a good baby seat? there's so many around it's hard to decide on what's best!

    when i had the prblem the lights didn't come on all the time, jsut at random when they felt like it! I took mine into a landrover specialist to get it reset, they have the box to plug in and do the job. Not heard of any ways to reset it yourself.

As the freelander doesn't have a switch to isolate the passenger airbag, if i remove it and get one of the cubby boxes and handles instead (fitted to those without the airbag) then i could fit a child seat in the front.     If it is the MAF sensor (mine was the same till i replaced it) landrover expect around 200 quid for one, you can fit an alternative one that costs around 50 quid (it's a peirburg rather than bosch) found a Chap that sells em online at TUNEAM , it's a rover site , they put the same bmw motor...

    I had the same on mine about a year ago, all 3 lights on, turned out to be the acceleration sensor (under the arm rest box behind the hand brake) Easy job to fit. Cost about 50 quid, did need the system to be reset after to turn the lights off.
