Just about to fit the egr blank and new inlet hose, had a look under the bonnet, and my truck looks different to the photos I have seen here "How to remove and bypass the EGR valve on a Land Rover Discovery 300tdi". Admittedly mine is a R plate auto and I am pretty green at working on trucks...

The lock cannot be used manually the key will move clockwise but feck all happens. If I try any harder I will bend the key. What is the Actuator? Need to sort this out as I cant lock the truck. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info, I am not sure what the acuator is, but I will try and find out. Its weird sometimes it locks sometimes it doesnt. I can lock it manually even though the key moves left to right, it doesnt seem to effect the locking at all??

I have a jap import 300TDI R plate Disco. Very tidy all round, but the central locking is playing me up. When you press lock on the fob all the doors clunk down (back door on sounds like a machine gun) and then they pop straight back up, leaving the truck unlocked. I am not 100% worried IF I...

Mine doesn't cause a prob in the dry just when lots of water is a about. When my pump ****e its pants I through off the belt and it disintegrated in a million pieces and wound round everything (bit worrying round a corner doing 40mph, hence the replacement pump and second hand belt asap.

Thanks GLb8686 :) I will have to slap a new belt on as the one I have is second hand. I have done the penny trick previously and it stopped the whining after a water pump change. Maybe its the belt as I had thought.

Look lads If your referring to another thread I cant see it or find it. If this is a common problem to post I am sorry, as again I haven't seen anything on the forum thus far. So maybe some input would be useful?

Yep even when the truck goes through a deep puddle (especially on the driver side) the power steering has a blip and will stop working. Can anyone confirm what i suspect that this is the drive belt slipping due to the water? Or any other ideas on how to prevent this or improve it? Regards Reload:D
