Thanks for the confirmation! Usually chains are for life on most engines I believe. So I take it the chain is internal as well? And are all TD5 engines chain driven?

Replaced mine yesterday funnily enough. A recon box from a local LR parts seller. Great guy he was. Also helped us out remove the coolant pipes to drop the thing out. It was £260. Works a treat now.

My Disco 2 has no diff lock and I realise that this was the case for many. But just wondering what peoples opinions/experiences of one coping off road and on ice/snow.

I have been trying to remove the 18mm nut on one end of the drop arm. It has got all the way to the end but now the thread spins with it. I am pretty sure that there is an allen key slot, I am assuming allen key anyway, on the top of the thread. Does anyone know what size it is?

Ok run into a little problem. There is a large plastic under tray that needs removing and it won't seem to budge. All the screws are off and it is loose. I just can't get it out over the front axle. ANy ideas?

I have had a look through and haven't seen any mention of any green lanes around the Bristol area. Wouldn't mind taking my A3 Quattro out for a blast on one as well as the Disco.

As mentioned in a previous thread the steering feedback on my discovery 2 is very vague and the car wanders about the road when hitting bumps. Tbh I don't like driving it as it feels dangerous. Due to the help on here I heavily suspect the steering box because that is leaking a little...

The dvd player for the rear passengers on my disco 2 keeps spitting out dvds and saying error reading disc. Anyone else had this problem?
