I have an intermitted misfire and think separating my leads is the first thing I need to try. Can anyone point me in the direction of an illustration/photo of the ht lead configuration. Not firing order, but how the leads pass over each other and the cam cover. Thanks

My V8 has twin SU carbs, at the moment the spill offs at the front spill into the nearside front wheel well. Should they go back to the fuel tank?

And what should I use to flush it out?

Is it a clear cylinder thing?

What is the fuel lift pump and where can I find it? Sorry, very new to all this!

So on top of my non starting woes I just went to check the oil level before hooking up my new battery and a load of oil/petrol mixture poured out of the dipstick tube! How is fuel getting into the engine? Is it getting through the carbs? Do I need to flush it out, will it damage the engine...

Tried jump starting off my girlfriends car and get the same clicking - dead starter motor? Volt meter on the dash shows voltage is fine on first click of the ignition but on second click when trying to turn over the voltage drops right down to the left.

ok so I just tried to start it and it barely turns over now. Lots of clicking, like relays, am I right in thinking the battery's dead?

can anyone recommend a good place to get a replacement coil. Am I right in thinking it's part no RTC5628? Thanks

Can't vouch for quality, but the firing order is correct. I've separated them all with some plastic strips and insulating tape, should do the trick for now. Guess I'll just have to be patient until plugs, dizzy cap, leads and rotor arm get delivered. If no joy then, then I'll try the coil next.

Thanks for the offer fett but I have leads, plugs, dizzy cap and rotor arm on order. Been told to check the coil too as these can suffer in the heat? Could a hole in the exhaust be adding to my woes? I've not had a chance to look into it yet but it sounds like it's blowing between the...

Not sure if it's at all related but my wipers/wash are fairly temperamental. They can stop working altogether for 30-45 mins then all of a sudden be fine again. Guess that's just another connection to check!

The leads are crossing over each other quite randomly, I'm going to try to separate them tonight with cable ties or similar.

Thanks Rob! Carbs were overhauled and balanced a few months ago. Will check them tonight though. Oil seems ok, could maybe do with a top up. Not thought of fuel filter, where is it located? Could quite possibly be a fueling issue since the tanks been relocated inside the cab. I'm in sevenoaks...
