yeah my mates got one and it is good but i'm currently out of work so money is a big issue for me, the building trade has not been kind in this last year :(

it's on loan to me for an extensive amount of time as long as i fix whats wrong with it so i dunno what the law is on that, i never would've guessed it would be in the engine bay so it may well be there tbh

i have done before on my old astra but never with the standard half scissor jack thing always with my 2 tonne halfrauds jobbie the half scissor ones are ridiculous they make themselves ****ed as they're screwed up! and for some reason the pressure they create even with the car in gear and...

yeah it's an auto, its not fantastically fast tbh, my astra 1.7 td can out gun it easy with an extra person onboard too!! do you know where the pipe goes? i would like to fix the kick down (edit) think i need to get a pic of said pipe as it may resolve a lot of the mystery of this issue lol

ok cheers all, the main thing i want it for is purely for the fact if i ever get a flat i don't wanna be flapping around the car looking for a jack at the side of a motorway with kids and mrs aboard, i will eventually invest in a decent ratchet type jack i've seen but this bottle jack will do...

as title i can't find one anywhere :confused: and i dont really fancy forking out for one of those extra high lift jacks cheers

having just got my first discovery i was working on it (no suprise by the looks of it! :lol:) taking out the steering box and i happened to come across a pipe about 4 or 5mm in diameter coming off what i think is the vacuum pump for the cruise control and it was extremely cracked and dead...

i did wonder if it was imperial stuff tbh being a british car i'll have to invest in some imperial spanners (though now ive snapped the pipe :smash: i have the sockets for it :rolleyes:) thank you for all your replies :)

i'm having an issue with finding out part of the throttle linkage (i think?) looking at the engine bay from the front to the left theres a part similar to the throttle cable but it has a rod going into a box with a pipe the other side of this box which is currently cracked and really dead it was...
