    Intermittent hot start problem.

Thanks for the advice. Did what you suggested and when I went to check the engine end of the earth strap it was very loose. So brightened it all with wire wool and retightened it. Hopefully this should sort it all out.

    Intermittent hot start problem.

It won't crank at all. not even a solenoid click. turn key and all you get is the noise of the cabin fan turning on. I can't tell whether having the immobiliser bypassed (done at a LR main dealer) would remove it from the list of suspects. My immediate thoughts were that it was a faulty...

    Intermittent hot start problem.

In the summer I had an issue where the car wouldn't start when it was hot. It was diagnosed as a faulty immobiliser and the usual spider fix was done and things were fine until just recently. However three times recently when the car was warm both from an engine and a cabin perspective it...

Failed MOT on CO Emission: Grateful for advice

I did all of the above and only just scraped through on 2nd fast idle test. Still a pass is a pass but will probably need to replace the cats this year. Tks to all who chipped in with help/advice.

Failed MOT on CO Emission: Grateful for advice

Just a thought but if the system wer operating out of spec and the cat were damaged presumably the Hydrocarbon reading should be elevated, but the HC reading was within tolerance. I might just start off by giving it a good service, change the oil, plugs, filters and possibly the Sensors before I...

Failed MOT on CO Emission: Grateful for advice

Hi Folks, I got some bad news today. My Disco 1 3.9i failed it's MOT today on emissions (and a track rod end, which is easy to fix). The test refusal cert says "Exhaust Emissions Carbon Monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive (7.3.D.4)". The CO readings at both fast idle tests are as...

    Hello Everyone

Hi Everyone, new to the forum so please be gentle. I have been a LR owner for many years, I've had a 1976 Range Rover, and 1981 Range Rover In-Vogue, a Freelander 1.8, a Discovery II TD5 and now a 1996 3.9 Discovery I. Loved em all (but the In-Vogue was ace).
