    there are holes almost all the way around the outer edges of the arches and you can see most o the washer bottle through the wheel arch so it looks like i'm gonna be buying and fitting some ones Cheers mad hat man ones.

    are they testable on the mot or can i get away with rusty holes in them as they're not really load bearing cos the suspension is mounted to the chassis? Are they easy to change? (bolt on) Where's the best place to get them from? Thanks again people!

    cheers, i'm guessing you've gotta have the engine running and where should i put the wd? Is it usually just the linkage that siezes or do i need to go further.

    low range. On a 1988 3.5efi auto. What gear setting should i be in, should i be stationary, what can i do to free it if it's siezed? Cheers people.

    I dunno about that, all i know is it feels a bit wierd driving a rangie for the first time, thinking what the hells that banging from the back left every time i go over a bump, only to look the next time i stopped and find there's no shock rubber on the top end of the shock. Nice day out though...

    I got it back ok, other than filling up with oil about 3 times and it smoking and splashing out the back over my dad's car and drinking 55 quids of petrol. No police in sight. Oh well, gotta start the work now!

    I picked up my "bargain" rangie yesterday and drove it home. What an experience and learning curve. So far that i know of it needs new suspension rubbers, new inner wing and is leaking oil from the bottom of the engine so poss a new sump gasket, hopefully it's just that and not the main...

    that's what i was thinking of doing, getting a wheel and tyre package for the muds depending on how worn the wilderness's are, if they're knackered then i'll be looking at an all terrain type as i can't afford 2 sets, cheers kenny!
