Had no joy with this at all, the twu u shape pins wont release the unit and trying to remove the centre facia seems pointless too. I did have a go, but after having removed the clock, ashtray, coin holder etc etc , I realised that to completely remove it, I needed to remove the radio cassette...

Maybe a good idea to stick a cd cleaner disc in the autochanger, if it will fit. clean the laser. Sold an autochanger not long ago, out of a Rover 800. Same unit apparently . Philips dc083 I think, Should have kept it and stuck it in the discovery.

Got a cd player to replace the radio cassette unit. But the radio cassette refuses to come out of the dash. Removed the two end caps, inserted the release pins, but it will not budge. Someone said it must have an antitheft cage installed. Anyone got any good tips to help me get it out?

Leaking steering box. some rust on the rear wheel arches behind the doors and a small amount of water getting in the boot from one of the nearside back windows , creating a damp patch down by the nearside boot seat and boot floor. Oh and I think it may need some fresh tyres on soon, treads ok...

Have a 94 Discovery with a leaking steering box. It would appear to be leaking from the steering input shaft. From the top of the box anyway, the top of the chassis rail is covered in power steering fluid [atf] ? right next to the steering box. Would like to hear from anyone who has experience...

Wifes just bought a 94 Discovery diesel. Its a clean one . It was the seventh one we looked at. Its not perfect, which is why I`ve joined this forum. She can drive it and I will attempt to repair, maintain it, with your help, hopefully.:)
