Hi all, My disco has been going into limp mode on and off now for around a year. I've had a couple of diagnostic checks but as usual they aren't conclusive. The last one said something about a solenoid2 problem. The battery and gearbox oil level was fine so I've been back to square one again...

Hi all, the oil level/filler plug on my auto box is totally stuck! I've squirted with plus gas but to no avail. Will it be ok to try some direct heat??

I didn't know that. I thought they were all just a cheap replacement?

So are you saying the MAF is not needed if the EGR has been removed?

Hi all, I'm changing the fuel filter on my disco as it has started leaking! My question is, do I go for a genuine filter (£41.40!!) or are the cheaper ones (£6ish) a waste of money?

Is the light just a warning then? I thought it meant the pump was actually trying to raise the suspension :oops:!

Morning all, my air suspension has been replaced with coil springs but every now and then the SLS light comes on. I'm pretty sure this needs turning off in the ECU, but could I just remove relay 5 instead?

I removed the R4 relay and it stopped spinning so I will get it reset, cheers sierrafery

Just had a look. If the ignition is on only then the fan at the front is not running. As soon as the engine is started the front fan runs and that is the one I can now hear I'm sure.

Cheers sierrafery, I think you are probably correct. I've heard the fan and had a look and seen the other one spinning so assumed it was that, but I probably can't see the air con fan?

Cheers Discool, it just seems strange that I can hear it since it overheated. Is this big fan (engine side of rad) the only one that cools the radiator or does the other aircon fan also act as a cooler?

C Cheers James. Ive never noticed it running before ( but I bow to your better knowledge) because I have never heard it, but know it's quite noticeable. Maybe it's got a bit noisy since running so hard? I will try the news paper test and see if it stops.

Yes it's the fan behind the rad (engine side of rad). It now runs all the time since it overheated. It sounds like sierrafery is right and it will need plugging in to reset it.

It's the big fan that cools the rad.

Hi all, My TD5 overheated the other day because the radiator pipe burst! Now the radiator fan runs as all of the time. I've changed the switch that controls the fan but that has made no difference. Any ideas would be much appreciated?
