This may sound a ridiculously simple question, but when I'm checking the oil level in my Fairey overdrive should I be screwing the dipstick in to check it or just resting it on top of the threads?

I had several sets from Paddocks to start with - none of which were handed and I couldn't get rid of the infamous landy-Lean. Ended up getting a set from GB Springs (handed) and all sits perfectly level - at the end of the day the weight distribution remains uneven whichever springs you put on...

Bit of a weird one maybe, but my 88" Diesel Stationwagon 1975 S3 (Gerty) was originally supplied by a garage in Tonbridge, Kent called Stevensons - Does anybody know anything about this garage? does it still exist (albeit under another name) as I can find no information at all about it on google...

I know they are I bought a set, but sent them back as really horrible! actually they weren't that bad but really cheap and flimsy and turned up bent to buggery, so I sent them back.... I heard about these other ones from a mate of mine who bought some and they are really well made, fit perfectly...

Not sure if you mean the steel sills themselves or the aluminium cover strips? - if the latter, then I have just purchased a full set from these guys (see link below) and I have to say that I am very impressed with what turned up - fit perfect :) LAND ROVER SERIES 2A/3 88" SWB SILL SET...

Best off getting a 25ltr drum of the stuff from somewhere like Smith & Allen (you'll need plenty of it after all) and much cheaper per litre that way I use their 15w/40 and works very well for me - I recall it being just under £55 including delivery

RTV silicone works very well..as Nickjaxe said clamp down with vents for as long as possible (at least 24hrs) to cure properly - also worth putting seals in a polythene bag and then putting the bag in hot water to soften the rubber without getting it wet - makes them a hell of a lot easier to...

Weight of transfer box, Fuel tank and hefty driver all on the same side so handing of springs designed to take account of this - cheap unhanded springs therefore tend to allow the landy to sag a bit on the drivers side

Aluminium Rocky Mountain door tops as noted above, replace old metal/felt channels with plastic/felt ones, or if generally solid coat inside of door tops with waxoyl or similar to prevent rusting

Assuming you mean the rubber seals that run down either side of the bonnet over the tops of the wings then MRC5640 - it's in section 2I 04 of the parts catalogue as it's sound deadening (rather than to prevent water getting in) - not many fitted with it (not sure why). I have looked for this...
