Hi Datatek,

I just sent you back an email where I have drawn onto the image you Sent over. I also placed a protractor over the top of your image and the angle I have drawn.

Assuming I dont have the wider bottom slots that will regulate the beam position do you think the angle I have drawn will get me somewhere close if i dont have that reference of the wider slots.

Many thanks
Yes.

And given JLR dont make the phase 2 lights anymore they are hard to find.

I need to remove the phase 2 headlamp unit and replace them with a more readily availible model and that is cheaper.

Any ideas !?

Have you heard back from Rob?

I don't know if phase 1 ones will fit, you'll have to ask, but I do know that others have done the opposite, i.e changed phase 1s for phase 2s and they had to cut stuff about, so fitting phase 1s might be easier. You might need to get them off Rob and a few other bits so that they fit properly. (Talking front body panels here.)

Round here there are a heck of a lot more Disco 1s around, and the headlight off them is the same as the early Disco 2s as I had to pinch one off one of my Disco1s to get it through the MOT. (I may have saaid this before.)

🤣 it does ! Im going to pick them up tomorrow. Not too far from me and they potentially have a few other bits I need.
Great!! Really happy for you!
I know how hard it can be having had a seemingly insoluble problem with the wife's Pluriel's dipping headlight, this has now been followed by someone having nicked her left side rear reflector.
I even went to a Citroen garage to ask if they sold bits for cars. The wimmins asked me how old the car was, before I could tell her she said "If it is over 10 years old we won't have them." So I asked if that meant that all Citroens died at 10 years of age. She sympathised and tried to be helpful, she sent me to Aldi!!
WTF?
And Leclerc Auto had all sorts of reflectors but none even approaching them. They (or copies) are made in China but you cannot buy them from France.
If I can find ont internet ones that are remotely the right size and shape I'll get one and, using bits of wood, stick it in place. It is recessed of course.
How did you manage to find them if you don't mind telling us?
:) :) :)

I Feel your pain, im pretty sure if you persist you will be able to find what you need. They are out there, my story is proof of that.

I spent over 20 hours I reckon to find those lights. In the end I found a land rover breaker/ parts company JP land. I emailed them they replied immediately confirming they have the stock at a resonable price (compared to what I have seen anyway)

Right, I will make a note of them as it would appear Rob didn't have any!
I LOVE their address!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I did laugh myself !!

It was unfortunate Rob didnt have the parts I need. He seems like a good guy and I will definately keep him in mind for future parts 100%.
Yep he is a real good guy.
He has a very large collection of Dolomite Sprints, every time I go there he has one or two more. I had one once, the only car that ever beat me.
He used to run a Landy garage subbing out the mech work to another guy. But the mech got cancer and even though he was cured, at least at the mo, Rob decided it wasn't worth keeping the garage going as trade had dropped off. So the mech went off buildering.
I met him when our Disco 2 got hit by a bloke going too fast down our mountain road, couldn't stay on his half going round a hairpin.
He had an exact same model even in the same colour so he could sell me two doors, a back axle all the suspension bits and fit them all.
Insurance paid the lot so we were both happy. Buy spares off him all the time. But then he is only 20 miles down the road from us. ;):):)
