Hi everyone,

Need a bit of assistance. I have had to put a new engine and gearbox into my disco 3.

I very stupidly forgot to mark off the connection into the ECU there are 3 connections I am unsure about.

I would be grateful for any assistance. Please see attached picture.

The plugs and connectors look like they are all keyed differently i.e. you shouldn't be able to plug them into the wrong connector.

they only fit one way, you cant put the wrong plug in the wrong socket it just wont fit as it the space bars on the side show in your photos

Hi Keith,

I am in the final stages now, I just need to connect the fuel lines and the gearbox earth wire. It's been 6 months in the making, just been taking it easy and extremely carefully.

I know you're nearly there now, but should you need further help, @tyregeezer pulls D3/4 engines in and out for laughs. The man has no fear....

Hi mate,

I think I need your assistance. I've tried to connect thr battery in, after 10 seconds the battery started to over heat, steam started to come out the overflow valve on the battery. I was maybe thinking the alternator?

Is this with engine running ?
If yes check that alternator and wiring.
If it is when you first connect battery, it sounds like you have something going to ground.
With battery disconnected use a multi-meter to check for wires going to ground.
