I will be renewing all 8 of the lamps on my 1993 Defender 110.

I don't want to use LED units, however I also don't want those awful 'Made in India' ones.

So my questiion is: who makes a decent quality set of lamps..?

Many thanks, for any reccomendations!

No one as far as I can tell.
This was also my experience before swapping to LED. I treated them as disposable and when a bulb blew replaced the whole unit for fractionally more than just new bulb! Fog lights were the worst for it and required a good strip and clean before every MOT!

The wipac ones were slightly better but swapped back to the cheap ones as there wasn't enough of a difference. When they are this price as long as they last a couple of years I am happy. I did find they like to be used regularly. the ones on my daily would last longer than the ones on the series which is more of a fair weather weekend toy.

I just checked and we have been using Britpart cheapest aswell.
They are a bit poor but since they are not safety item it doesn't really matter.

Have you considered the military screw on lights? They’re more expensive but don’t seem to have the same problems as the standard lights.
