Hi folks,

I thought it was a switch issue, but having swapped passenger and driver switches, the exact same problem persists.

It works great for 10-15min, then nothing... Eventually resets itself, then I can use it again. Seems like something is overheating somewhere.

Anyone ever had this before? I'm as far as it gets from being an expert with electrics.

Thanks!

I remember seeing the guy on youtube (Britannia, something I think, he's a Fred Dibnah type living out in Canada) recommending that all heated seats be fitted with a 10 minute relay, especially aftermarket ones as they will just continue to heat until turned off, there are pictures online of people who've had their passenger seat burst into flames as they've been driving around with them on, having accidentally knock the switch? It could be that they intentionally switch off

If it the same time each time, then it may have a timed relay as suggested by others, a simply relay swap could be you fix.
I have fitted a few aftermarket heated seat kits and none have had timed relays.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the helpful feedback!

I'll hook a voltmeter to one of the heating elements and time it, try a few times, and see if it's the same time everytime.

I'll get back to you ASAP!

Thanks again.

I have original as a sx with winter pack the 10min sounds about right also if you turn the ignition off you need to turn them back on push push switching with light indicator thay also move to the off position after 10mins must be a safety fitment for extended time you just push the switch and you get another 10mins
